I just got a cable/dsl router right, set it up and all. Now i want to send messages to my dad via it, is this possible? I want to scare him. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    With a novel network, sure.

Or, just log into AIM on his comp and message him from it? I dunno.

Yeah Novell is scary like that. My friends and I used to do that to each other at school. It was great.

If you have Win XP, use the netsend command in the cmd prompt. It works in this format [net send <dadcomputersaddress> "This is the message you want to send"] (remove []) just remove the <> and put your dads IP# or computer name there, keep the "", just put your own message in them.

It pops up a message box with a OK button your computers adress (a series of numbers that any one who isn't computer literiate will not understand) and your message in plain text however you wrote it. Fun message's include "PRESS OK OR CLOSE THIS BOX TO FORMAT C: NOW", or "VIRUS DETECTED, PLEASE SHUT DOWN WITHOUT SAVING IMMEDIATELY". Or you could just DOS loop the program infinately to create a popup box that just clicks an infinate amount of time and can't be closed <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

[edit] the format is 'net send' not 'netsend' sorry for the confusion caused

Hmmm, sounds like it has been disabled on your computer... Probably for the best, netsends have a somewhat bad reputation for what they origianlly were used for online <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Nil it is enabled, use a space inbetween net and send, so it is in "net send" computername/address "message".

    XD

Even better is the fact you can check which computer is connected to which. To do so :

    1) Head over to your router (hopefully it is webbased) and use the IP address of your router (192.168.1.1, etc. )
    2) Look around for the client list (it should be in connection status or something)
    3) Look for your dads IP XD

    GL HF XD

Funny because I remember Inf pwned somoene with the same trick....

EDIT : Want to know something real funny?

type net send <your dad's lcal router address here> "XXX_Dialer is now installed! Press ok or close this window to continue"

You'll either see him shocked, or see him well....look for le program ^_________^
