Man, for all the work you have put in NS you can leave knowing that thousands of people realise and know who and what XP-Cagey did for the NS community...

woh, you're leaving, cagey? I give you the very best of luck in the future.

psst...try to persuade the guys at EA not to make too many Sims2 expansions, for the sake of mine and others sanity.

It always baffled me how someone with so much obvious talent managed to NOT be employed for so long. Glad someone finally straightened out their cranial-rectal inversion and snatched you up.

Nothing but the best man, IMO you've deserved this for a while now.

this goes to show you how much involvement with NS owns. NS wasn't the only factor, but it certainly helped out KFS, ken, and the others.

(partial repost from pt forum):

Ironically enough, I was offered a level designer position at EA for Pacific Assault last year. We could have been working together. Ed Moore and the gang were pretty cool. Working on NS really helped me get the offer. It was a tough decision, but I decided the game industry just wasn't for me.

Congrats and good luck. I hope it works out for you!

Nice one.

I'll be sure to try and make "negative brightness" lights for HLRAD when I get my greedy hands on the source.

I don't know if he can SEND you free games, but speaking from my personal experiance visiting the EA *cough* campus *cough* FACILITY, I MEAN FACILITY, Cagy should be able to get pretty much any game he wants there for free. Its market recearch! YA!

Good to see you end up where you wanted, as you are an awesome programmer.
But it's a shame to hear you probably won't be finishing the big re-write of the tools or whatever you were working on.
• ReeseReese Join Date: 2003-05-08 Member: 16143Members
Speaking of the new tools, do you have any thoughts on what you'll do with those if you aren't able to develop them anymore? Realistically even if you are still able to do mod work, the tools rewrite is a huge undertaking, and something that will be difficult to complete if you're spending all day doing serious coding voodoo over at EA. Hopefully you'll be able to find someone you are confident in to finish the job, if you aren't able to.
