Gauss is pronounced "gaouz" and sounds a little bit like "cows," you say it short, just one syllable. I think. Man you gotta love english. :x I'm not at all sure about this.

A real life gauss gun isn't too far removed from a rail gun. So, yeah, it would go through walls. You missed that from your quote of me. So the models are unrealistic, they're still based on existing guns. You take the desert eagle model in CS and replace it with a frying pan, it's still a desert eagle even if it doesn't look like one. Maybe we just don't have many professional modellers, or maybe the unrealistic models are preferred by some, I don't really know.
But back to the ORIGINAL point of this thread, you are right, S&I certainly isn't a realistic combat mod. If it were, I wouldn't play it.
And a side note, it's MCL and AFD ;>
And yeah, to the guy saying gauss is the blue beam weapon with a pack on the back, you are thinking of the gluon or egon or whatever you want to call it. The Gauss is the same as the Tau Cannon.

"The exoskeleton could eventually be used by army medics to carry injured soldiers off a battlefield, firefighters to haul their gear up dozens of flights of stairs to put out a high-rise blaze, or rescue workers to bring in food and first-aid supplies to areas where vehicles cannot enter. "

Wow... how can you possibly make a worse review...
S&I used to be very cool , but no one plays it nowadays... it was popular about 2 years ago... advertising a dead mod isn't going to bring many players back to HL.
I can't believe he said NS was "hyper-realistic" , it's not even close to Action HL's realism level (and the mod was not supposed to be realistic) , nowhere did he mention the Kharaa either. They're no random monster though , they're a family of brand new player classes that shaped NS's unique gameplay.
This reviewer deserves to be flammed for half an eternity at least.
