... according to PC Gamer magazine ...
In the August 2004 issue of PC Gamer, which subscribers (me) should be receiving now, Dan Morris wrote a section in the Extended Play editorial giving our good friend Half-Life a last hurrah before its sequel comes out and it becomes hopelessly outdated (in Dan's eyes, at least). Nothing wrong here - that is, until Dan, throwing out several big mod names, makes a rather idiotic stumble. Here's the whole paragraph:

QUOTE

And I can't forget the lesser-known, but equally compelling, lights of this ever-creative mod community. Consider Science & Industry, where the objective was to raid your enemy's research facility and kidnap his scientists. Or the much more sinister Natural Selection, with its plethora of real-world weapons and its hyper-realistic combat mode.

Huh? Reading this, I got the impression that Dan has never even played NS - hell, he probably hasn't even visited the web site! Not only does he describe a game that I've never played, he refers to it as "lesser-known," despite NS having more time played on Steam than Team Fortress Classic!
I think you guys know what to do. Here are the addresses:

He probably meant to say "Hostile Intent."
Keep your swearing in check around here, please.
Then why did he specifically mention combat mode?
v. com·bat·ed, or com·bat·ted com·bat·ing, or com·bat·ting com·bats or com·bats
v. tr.
To oppose in battle; fight against.
To oppose vigorously; struggle against. See Synonyms at oppose.
1. New game's name (remember, all older version are obsolete - new version is a must buy).
2. Make new game look good, no matter how badly it sucks - games must sell.
3. To insure the readers of correctness of your deep insights, make sure to use a lot of terms and names they might have seen on the other internet websites - deep research is unnessesary though, as most of our readers are completely ignorant of facts of gaming market and will swallow everything you feed them.
I do believe most of you got my point...
Though, I got very dissapointed at black and white after they gave it like 96% or something like that. I think it sucked
I do love the way they comment on all images though, its usually funny as hell (im talking about swedish PCG here, I dont know anything about all the other PCG-versions out there )
He's still a idiot for such a blatant typo.
S&I doesn't have *any* real world weaponry... it's not a typo... it's a blatant lack of information on both mods
You didn't get B&W did you?
What the "96%" actually was is the proportion of people who actually like that genre of games who thought B&W was a terrible pile of horse crap.
Hopefully i dont get banned =/
...and gauss guns, rocket pistols (4 shots), GI Destabilizer, etc etc
