Gamezville: Your Thoughts

<div class="IPBDescription">worst. Games-show. ever</div>
I've been watching this show on and off and, I must admit I now watch it for laughs.
I think they screw up in every single show they air. They were obviously aiming for the console gamers, because no serious PC GAMER could possibly take this show seriously.

The presenters seem to add/remove points for a game if it has 3D graphics or not. A Typical Shallow approach to reviewing I must say. The rest of the G-team arent as bad as the presenters, and seem to actually know what they are doing. Although they do get things wrong sometimes.

Like the quote from Gabe Newell a few months back where he states that if he "had to delay Hl2 to 2005" he would. Along with others on the internet who took this completely the wrong way, so did the G-team. Basically telling anyone watching that Hl2 looks like its going to be delayed till 2005. Not a clever thing to do.

One of the presenters walks on over to a game he's probably never played before in his life. Listens to a member of the G-team who has played it give a score and his reasons. And then pretends he knows what he's talking about. WELL, YOU DONT. And it shows.

One of the presenters was reviewing Secret Weapons over Normandy. The G-team member standing next to him had already told him the title of the game, and so he amazingly managed to get it wrong, giving a score to "Secret Weapons of World War II" never heard of that one...

Went to the website <a href='http://www.gamezville.tv/' target='_blank'>http://www.gamezville.tv/</a> to see if I could ask why these guys get it wrong SO MANY TIMES when I noticed this little snippet:

<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->
A while ago we featured the fantastic Xbox Wireless 'Neo S' Controller. While Sarah got it spot on, we incorrectly stated in the caption the wrong manufacturer. It is in fact made by JOYTECH and it retails at around £29.99, available at all good retailers. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

<img src='http://www.gamezville.tv/images/joytechpad.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

Notice the Huge "JOYTECH" lettering on the Gamepad? The person they hired to do their research obviously didnt notice.

<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> The caption was also incorrect for the Playfree Vibrating Wireless Controller, which is made by 4Gamers retailing at £34.99.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

<img src='http://www.gamezville.tv/images/4gamerspad.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

If you go to their website they have Disabled Right clicking. Wouldnt want to STEAL THEIR PICTURES NOW WOULD I? Unfortunately they havent heard of Printscreen.
even more amusing is that I managed to get the properties window up by right clicking even though the Pop up box told me I couldnt. Some shoddy coding right there. So those pictures you see linked above me are the ones directly from their website.

Dont get me started on the massive "HEAD2HEAD" sessions where they get two people to Button Bash their Controllers as much as possible while the G-team commentate on their Amazing skills. My 3 year old brother can bash a game-pad. There's nothing Skillfull about it. trust me.

I personally want to find out who thought of Swapping "S" with "Z" to deliberately misspell the title of the program was going to appeal to anyone over the age of 12.

Its not cool. Its not clever. It just looks stupid.

Sorry about all this. I just felt the need to let off a little steam.
I'm sure the guys are just doing their job, But it really is an awfull program. I feel sorry for them. Well, the cool members of the G-team anyway.
The presenters are laughable. really.

    it seems that even though some of today's adults were born in the gaming era, they have somehow metamorphed into a writhing mass of stupididty that is the combination of a gamer and an adult that thinks he's C001X0R M4N!

    Take, for example, every known commercial with video games on the planet. they contain

    1. Really Old Noises.

    2. Button Mashing.

    3. Stupidity.

    It seems like the executives are tapping into a culture they have no information on whatsoever, and are just making up things along the way. Also see the sitcom about a "gamer family". Do not watch it if you are a gamer. Your FACE WILL EXPLODE FROM THE RAW IDIOCY CONTAINED WITHIN.

    I honestly don't know how people grew up and got so.... obivious to everything because they are adults and think everything they do is right.

    Is that the horribly embarrasing UK kids' show featuring Really Cool People who prove that gamers aren't nerds by using the word "yo" in place of any punctuation?

    TRY HARDER.

    I love Gamezville. Look at it, love. Look at it. It's for kids! The presenters aren't exactly gamers like you or I, but they're not totally clueless either. And The Guru is The Man. I saw him answer (insolent) questions about Megaman's female buddy Roll and Ninja Gaiden, so things could be worse. Not like they're telling us which the best Pokemon is, right? It's fun! In fact, the more I think about it, the presenters are just about perfect for the task. Nerds don't make good kids TV, love. You don't want some pasty beard-oh prattling on about his Ikaruga top score on primetime Sky TV, see? They work well together and they're clearly yoof culture.

    If you want a games show for us, give the (really really excellent) <a href='http://www.consolevania.com/' target='_blank'>Consolevania</a> a try.

    I rate it 4 Gs.

    WHy is it that video games are starting to become linked with the hip hop culture? I remeber the day when if you said you played video games, you were labled as a nerd or a geek, now its "gangsta" to play video games?

    I hate mainstream.

    What I really miss is Gamesmaster, of course. In fact, what better way to use the FP Torrent than hosting the last ever episode of Britain's favourite vidgame show? Back soon!

    Flint, you're random man. Really. I'm with norn, was that post above a joke or not? [EDIT :: CLARITY :: The Post Above his last one, not the one quoted. ]

    As for the show, I never watch gaming related television, I usually just read on the net or in PC Gamer or EGM. Really, when I think about it, I don't watch much TV at all.

    Dont even mention Gamesmaster in a thread about Gamezville.
    Gamesmaster should never even be SEEN with the word Gamezville. It is not worthy of comparing!

    Gamesmaster was the god of Gaming TV. Its quite obvious the Games Guru is a cheap rip-off of the floaty headed goodness of the Gamesmaster himself.

    edit: whoops. forgot to "mispell" the title of the program. Damn me with my English and spelling skills.

    Please download this.

    You won't regret it, for as it is writ in the Bible; "leadeth your flock under Diamond, for he is the bringer of light - be wary of the Perry!"

    <a href='http://www.thelbsc.co.uk/tracker/download.php/15/gamesmaster.torrent' target='_blank'>Last episode of Gamesmaster, 43 megs.</a>

    Also, please download Consolevania. If you want a hardcore games show, you've got it right there.

    All of Gamezville's slaters have either not even watched an episode, or not viewed it as a kids show. Truth.

    No love. Gamesmaster tried to get away from being a kids show, as seen by Diamond's silly sexual innuendo and repeated attempts at getting a later timeslot. Gamezville acts gangsta to appear big to small children. Do you see?
