    IMI Desert Eagle,
hmm thats actually the only one i saw in action in real life, but nonetheless it has a sweeet design :)

MP5 all the way.... or the UMP.

The Desert Eagle is actually a large, impractical piece of crap. Give me a nice controllable 9mm with reliable recoil operation instead of the gas-operated Desert Eagle...

Not to mention it only holds 7shots.

on a side note, Steyr no longer exists as a company. the only steyr weaponry in production is in Australia, for the military there.

autoloading pistols: HK P7 series, FN BHP Target (6inch barrel version.. what a beauty!), Beretta 92/96 in OD Green (it's new!), anything Para-Ord with a power extractor!

revolvers: mateba model 6 unica series (including the carbines), S&W 329 PD

submachineguns: the venerable MP5 (the mp5f is cool), the underhyped SPECTRE, and the classic MP34.

bolt-action rifles: the doubly-venerable Remington 700, the sleek new FN Patrol

automatic rifles: Ye Oulde M-11 Carbine, the M1A, and the "only-in-dreams" PSG1.

machineguns: eventually i'll be behind an M2, or an M249 >D ...but my dream MG is... hmm.. an HK21E on the perimiter of a nasa spaceport!

    big guns: HMMWV-mounted TOW! hurrah!

edit: sorry if some of my choices might not be familiar to you armchair warriors XD

The Beretta pistol in current use by most police stations today. The real name eludes me, but my father has one. Took it for a test ride, what a beauty. I like it for it's simplicity in design and style. Nothing too fancy, but it just looks so cool.

One day I'll figure why the heck you all need such heavy weaponry IRL...

I mean , it seems a bit expensive to buy such toys and their ammo just to shoot at inanimate targets.

I like the look of the glock, square = win.

Plus I like to be able to say stupid things like, "Yo, imma bust my glock dog!"

    If we're talking handguns...

But if we're talking long arms...

Desert Eagle .50, Colt M4A1, or HK MP5 any day of the week please.

    ... or a Vulcan Cannon would be nice <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

My favourite gun is a broken one. I don't know how you people like something that can take a life.

A gun is a tool, not something to be fawned over. Next question might as well be, "Whats your favourite screwdriver?"

What kind of 'tool' is a gun then ?

    SOCOM MK 23 for Handgun

    XM8 for Assault Rifle

    MG 42 for Machine Gun

    MP5SD for Submachine Gun

    M28t for Sniper Rifle

    M1 Garand for Average Rifle.

Ohh.. I forgot all about the SOCOM, nice choice.

Reliable, high cap, .45ACP, nice and full sized... plus H&K just rocks all around.

Guns are cool tools, a little like riding lawnmowers, or industral lazers. If you have a good gun, its something to brag about, marksmanship is a hobby like mower racing.

None of those items were designed with killing in mind.
