Remember folks, it is not a crime to abhor anime.
Hehe, sorry about the earilier post, I was a bit sleepy that time and couldn't think right.
But trust me, try playing it on easy mode and finishing it, it would probably be nigh on impossible...I know it wasn't for me in GGX.
Damn Dizzy and her combos that tear off half your health And that damn doom archer overdrive thingy that does the same and is unblockable if it connects....
I believe you'll most likely be stuck on her for 1 - 1.5 hours. I knew I was. And I was using Sol. That one overpowered freak Sol! ON EASY MODE!
I wish I stuck to the GBA version, but it was too easy (unfortunately)

As I said before, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, and I'm fine with that. But let me let you in on a little secret - I've never really liked anime much either, but you don't see me spitting on every anime-styled game simply because it's got anime, do you?
The reason for my replies were not to fire back at someone for not liking anime, it was to request some reasoning as to why an anime-styled game is doomed to failure simply because it's anime.

QUOTE (Sycophant @ Jun 3 2004, 06:03 AM)

The reason for my replies were not to fire back at someone for not liking anime, it was to request some reasoning as to why an anime-styled game is doomed to failure simply because it's anime.

Well, I think the reason's pretty obvious. Most games that feature anime also feature anime-game playing styles - such as this Guilty Gear game. After not liking games featuring anime characters in the past, I think it's pretty safe to say I won't like them in the future. Not just because the anime characters are anime, but it certainly helps. Graphics are important to me. I don't like the anime art style. I really wouldn't want to have to put up with the anime graphics, because as I said, I don't like anime.
Maybe I'm wrong... it's just that I notice that most of the games featuring anime characters have gameplay styles I don't like either.
However, I don't really like any fighting games, so don't get me wrong... I wouldn't buy this game if it wasn't anime, hehe.
To be honest med I think your first post was so off the mark in this topic it's not even funny. Nobody was getting on at him for not liking anime graphics, the point was that he was making a judgement call purely on graphical art-style.
I'm not particularly sure what you mean by anime-graphic games all having the same play-style either =o I don't think bangai-oh plays much like guilty gear for example
Anime is just an art-style, just as anime is just another form of media when people refer to the animated films. The genres of the thing you're watching/playing are what matter and no matter what the media it's not going to change that much; hence the reason it mystifies me when someone who likes action movies watches akira then decides they don't like anime. It's like being a horror fan then reading a romance novel then declaring you don't like books =P Anime isn't something you should really love nor hate, it's just another form/style of display.

Looks good, but I like the MvsC series more. I love Anime, and this one actually has animated parts of the story! Woo! It's like MMX4! And when the game's 2D, it's more combo-based. Every 3D Street Fighter I've played is horrendously boring, but SSBM and the Power Stone series were good, then again, they had different fighting styles. I don't even know a Fighting game that's not Anime-d up.
