I dunno what to think anymore. Oni with new hitboxes went from tanks to guerrila fighters. Oni do the most damage on undefended structures and small groups of heavily equipped marines (run in, eat, run out = up to 40 res gone). Even against level 0 marines an Onos gets slaughtered if he runs in and starts goring people. In fact the fade is much better at going into enemy bases if they're lightly turreted; a good fade can blink attack to avoid nearly all damage.
But the marines have always had a disadvantage too... they have no 'skill' based gameplay. All the weapons are based around mass fire, cross fire and hits out of chance. It doesn't matter if you're a crack shot with the LMG, you'll hit with just about as many shots on an Onos as a noob due to natural bullet spread. Giving them the ability to 'headshot' to do a little more damage would add skill and attract non-noobs back to marines. I know the official policy is against locational damage because its a 'strategy' game, but lets face it... NS is a FPS and always will be. Of course the other option would be to add a single shot accurate heavy caliber rifle that does tremendous damage (at the cost of hideous ROF)... <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Marines right now are totally upgrade dependant. More upgrades = more power and thats the only thing that saves a marine team. Its all equipment based, res = win. Aliens are skill = win. You can have everyone be a fade but if no one knows how to blink strike properly you will lose anyway. And that folks is the biggest imbalancer of all- you can get better playing aliens but you just get bored playing marines.
Adding hit boxes to aliens is suicide.. Onos has a HUGE head.. He'd drop incredibly fast.. (Especially since I can already drop an nos 1 on 1 as a Marine with a damage 3 shotgun and no armor equipped unless the Onos is very good)
