Apology...

In the beginning of the school year, me and this guy got into it after P.E in the locker room. It ended up in physical violence and had to be broken up. Well here it is nearing the end of the school year and I really want to apologize to the guy about it. I mean he seems like a cool guy and I didn't really get a chance to know him. He's kind of a **** but only if you are a **** to him. I just want to apologize to him about our incident earlier on in the year and maybe become good friends with him since I'm going to be staying here for another two years. Should I apologize or just leave things the way there are and not mess anything up?

Probably he forgot about it, and you will remember him, so you have to apologize or get kicked in the face <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Peace!

This is a very honarble thing that you plan to do. With my experience with me planning to apologize i wish i would have done it to many situations. I think apologizing can save a good friendship even if the person is not your friend. Apologizingcan make you feel better about that incident. Even if he doesnt accept the apology you can put that incident past you.

Apologising is always a good option. Though the incident may have slipped from his mind, the fact that you're willing to try to make ammends for past transgressions should make a big impact, and it prevents the issue from re-emerging at a future date. And if he does still remember the incident, apologising is the only real way to prevent it from being a barrier to a potential friendship. Either way, apologising is a safe bet, provided you are truely sorry and desire forgiveness.

    Dont apologize.

    Just dont.

Unless it was really your fault.

Go up to him one day, and say "look do you have a sec?"

He'll be puzzled and go like, 'yeah what'

"look mate, i know you probably don't remember, but at the start of the year we got into a bit of a fight, and i can't help but feel there's been some bad blood between us because of this..." smile at this, like, 'of course there was going to be bad blood, it was a fight, haha'

Then say "well, you know, i just feel kind of bad about that, and would rather that it's behind us all and i know we're cool about it... "

    * THEN DO COMPLEX GESTURES INVOLVING BOTH OF YOUR HANDS CONTORTED INTO DIFFERENT SHAPES AND POSITIONS, THEN LEAVE AFTER A FINAL REMARK: "Keep it real, G" *

Need more info to make the call.

    a) Was it his fault or yours?

    b) How is he likely to react to people who talk to him?

    c) Who would have won the fight (be realistic).

    d) What resolution do you want?

    e) Are you looking for the practical answer or the ethically appropriate one?

If it wasn't your fault then hell no you shouldn't apologize.

If it was, what makes you think he isn't going to bring the reason right back up again?

Yeah.. bizzy should be the bigger man and apologize. That is what a sensible person would do. I know I do if I caused something like that to happen. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

If I didn't... I still would apologize for making it seem so bad.

At least the teacher didn't force you to apologise.

    God that was humiliating...

He is likely to react in a respectable way.

He would've but at the time it seemed like I was winning it. That's the truth to.

I dont know what you mean by "resolution"

Who got hurt more? You probably should have apologized like five months ago, but never is it too late while people are still alive.
  • TheDestroyerTheDestroyer Tooobah Join Date: 2003-07-12 Member: 18123Members, Constellation
Might as well, so you can be friends and bum mon-ay off of him.

Never hurts to apologize. Even if you arn't the one who did wrong. By doing so, you become the better person, proving you are truly human.

    ...or something like that <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

TBH- just say sorry. If he wants to do anything about it, or is still sore about it after you say sorry, or doesn't wanna hear it, then fine, he's a idiot.

This reminds me of an issue of MAD magazine I read a while ago where they were putting some of the more demented comments that might be written on a yearbook.

"Hey man, sorry about that whole trying to stab ordeal. I hope you've been recovering at a relatively good pace. I just hope we can still be friends... - Butch"

Not exactly how it was written, but you get the gists.

I think you should apologize so you can feel better about the whole thing. It sucks to look back and forever wish you had done something different. Also if the guy is as cool as you say he is, he might just apologize right back; but don't expect that.

Well I apologized about it. At first he couldn't remember and after an awkward 5 minutes he remembered. He said "Naw we're koo" and then I just gave him some dap, went back to my desk while he went to the vending machine to smoke most likely.

No, do not apologize! You need enemies! The more enemies you have, the more you can hunt down and exterminate when the worlds governments collapse and we are all forced into a Fallout like exsistence of survival of the fittest!!
