It's not as bad as I thought.
Recently on my trip to E3, I figured out just how expensive the gas alone was gonna be on the way down there, so I was looking to cut corners.
On the first night of the show, we all went to an In-And-Out burger and it cost me like $5.50 . So I was already getting deeper in a hole that I just didn't wanna be in.
On the second night, we went to a drive through at some place called "Del Taco". Amidst all the frustration that came out of the experience of my friend Josh who was trying to ask "What's the most amount of matter for the least amount of money?" (God I hate him for being retarded sometimes) to the people in the box, I decided to just not eat.
On the way to the place we were staying, I realized that I hadn't eaten in over 24 hours, and I wasn't hungry. So I pushed it a bit further....
In total I went ~65 hours with nothing but water. And it wasn't a bad experience at all. In the end, the only reason I broke it was because we were in the car ride home (on hour 5 of an estimated 20) and I had a terrible taste in my mouth that the California water just wasn't helping.
The summary of the story is that fasting wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, it wasn't even bad at all in fact. What are some other people's experiences with it?

So taking a dump was the last thing you wanted to do. Its amazing how long you can go when you have to. :P
During this time, your body cleans itself of wastes. After about 24 hrs the hunger pains go away.
For myself, I eat only once a day. I've been doing it for about 6 years now, and doing so I've conserved a lot of money. I don't even hunger. At my meal, I eat whatever I want whenever I want, and I don't gain a pound. Now, granted I generally don't eat as much, but I still feel filled.
The problem with fasting, is not knowing how to end the fast. If you just go out and , you can kill yourself. It's incredibly important that for the first day or two you eat highly digestive foods in small ammounts. This includes toast, and some fruits. That, and about 30% of your hydration comes from food, so you must regularly drink WATER. Do NOT drink anything else, because it is consitered food, and you will recieve hunger pains again.
There are plenty of books to rent on this. Just rent a yoga book, and try not to look at the goofy guys junk. They do some funky crap in that book, like clearing out the mucus from your esophogus, (you swallow some cloth, and pull it back out of your stomach), pour water through your nostrals, and even suck your intestine into your chest, (which is the weirdest thing you've ever seen), to move your stomach muscles. Belive it or not, all are incredibly healthy
My only problem is trying to gain weight(which I can't for some reason).

you can have mine
*Free of charge
Of course, since I'm a vegetarian, meal times aren't the joyous occasions they once were. *sigh*.
[edit]Oh, by the way, I don't by any means recommend not eating, or missing meals. Not healthy at all. Besides the fact that with less food in you you've got less energy to do stuff, so it gets taken right out of your fat deposits. And if you're skinny, like me, it mostly makes you tired since you don't have that much fat left to expend.[/edit]
Lightweight, I can't wait to see yoshi eat 150lbs of butter...
it's gonna be fun
The best advice though on remotely healthy living with as little effort and sacrifice as possible : Drink water with your meals. Just filtered or retail water, instead of highly sugared juices, soft drinks etc - not to mention, you'll save a buck on a drink each time
Plain ramen noodles are a large amount of food for a little amount of money. Also, Costco sells everything in bulk, so it's cheaper.
he said it wasn't that bad after the first few days, you just get used to not eating.
i'd happily give some of my 70Kg away (i'm only 14, but i think the fact that i'm 6'4" kind of contributes to that)

ditto
I once avoided the campus dining halls for ~3 days (depression, didn't want to be around any one).
the last night I ended up violently ill (yes I did drink H20, as I kept a brita in my room).
so yes, you will realy not knowtice the hunger after a while, however, it is still there and it can cause serious harm
Also as a note, most religious fasts (and all of the prolonged ones like ramadan) are not "Not eating" but instead "Not eating during daylight hours".
bigfriken difference (durring Ramadan there are 2 meals eaten, one before sun up and one after sundown).
Also, certain people are REQUIRED to eat during ramadan (If I remember they are the insane, youngchildren, and I tihnk pregnate women)

If you do try to gain weight, don't do it by eating unhealthy food. e.g. Cashew nuts are good and fatty, cheese or peanuts less healthy.
someone help me ;_;
