so since ive been quickly browsing the past replies i see people talking about other coporations having battleships etc,

can you "piolot" capital ships too and stuff?

What happens if you die? do you lose your ship?

Well, you can piolt any ship you can buy/make IF you have the appropiate skills to do so. If your ship is destroyed your escape pod is launched and if that gets blown up to, your clone wakes up.

I wonder where this is!

That'd be an Angel Safehouse.

Unfortunately, I ended up cancelling my Eve account (tonight, in fact) in favor of CoH. Eve got boring very quickly when I realized it actually DOES take an hour to do that mission where you get the bonus if you finish it in under an hour. And pretty as it was, I didn't have time to do hour-long missions all day, for the effective chump change I was getting as compared to a squadmate. Even with a Five-M2 Thorax, I couldn't rake in cash fast enough to keep up with the 30-40mil/day total that the top three were pulling down.
Admittedly, 10mil/day wasn't too bad... but it was more time than I was willing to spend, given that it took an actual 8 hours out of my day where I DID have to be there. Pretty as all get-out.. but you can only see the warp effect so many times before it gets old.

Just started a 7 day trial. Rather fun, although I would like a faster ship. With better weapons. And better mining apparatus. Mining is REALLY tedious.
• AngelusAngelus Join Date: 2002-12-14 Member: 10810Members, Constellation
yea, it might be slow and tedious, but it is definitly the best way to make money.

I've found that out the easy way Ive just got enough cash to finally build my battleship. Made 23mil over the last 2 days, with about 6 hours mining... Should be able to pull in more cash now.

What would you suggest mining?
• AngelusAngelus Join Date: 2002-12-14 Member: 10810Members, Constellation
depends what you can get your hands on...

The closer to A in the alphabet, the better the mineral. if you can find Kernite, get that. Also, dont be afraid to travel to sell minerals. you can some times get far more than if you stay where you are.
• RellixRellix Join Date: 2003-02-15 Member: 13572Members, Constellation, Reinforced - Shadow
Mining lasers j/k

Try Miners 2s if your ship can support them.
Most race have 2 mining frigits the better of the minmater for example is the probe.
• Daza4Daza4 Kerc Kasha Join Date: 2003-04-06 Member: 15233Members
I need to buy some mining 2 lasers. Ive got 3 mining 1 lasers but they do the job well.

Looking at Angelus Chunk o'Junk, I get the impression that this is an awfully tedious game, is that true?
Do I have to buy PCZone to get a free trial, or can I download one from somewhere?
• Daza4Daza4 Kerc Kasha Join Date: 2003-04-06 Member: 15233Members
10 day trial!
Firstly download the game from the main site, install and go to here get your cdkey and register a account on eve online, and away you go.

That wasent Angs hanger, it was someone who wanted to clean out their corps loot from killings things, that probably isnt his main hanger and is just a collection of things hes found.

See the post above for the 10 day trial.
• AngelusAngelus Join Date: 2002-12-14 Member: 10810Members, Constellation
rellix is right....

I dont stock pile stuff. That link is one that (i think it was) Rellix found on the Eve online forums... My hangar is about 1/10th that size, thank god.

As for being tedious, it depends what your doing. After a while of mining, it starts to get boring, but, as i previously mentioned, its definitly the fastest way to make money.

IT's really rather boring, at lower levels. You HAVE to mine in order to get a good ship, but it takes FOREVER to mine. I mined for 2 hours yesterday and got 100k. A good ship costs millions. Good ship=126479161896782 hours of MIND NUMBING mining. In game name is Shinji Perkins.

Not true.

You can do agent missions to gain corporation standings and get cash and other bonus rewards.
You can preform trade runs buying low and selling high.
You can manufacture equipment and sell it.
You can reasearch blue prints and sell copies of them.
You can hunt down players and claim bountyes on their heads.
You can hunt pirates and get the reward for killing them.
You can sell the loot from hunting pirates.
You can transport equipment from station to station for other players.

As well as some other things.

Remember if all you do is mine then thats all you do in EVE....
• docchimpydocchimpy Join Date: 2003-07-19 Member: 18266Members
Right, but to buy the pretty ships you need money, and to get money you need to mine.

Or you can do what I did, and talk with alot of higher level people asking for tips...after my thanks and byes, I usually found a few hundred K in my bank account. Plus, joining a corp like OMG will usually land you a damn nice ship.

(And the only time I've mined is to help out Angelus)

No, chimpy. Most of the things Rellix listed can be done with small or weaker ships, especially trade runs and blue prints and stuff.

Just bought a kestrel, upgrading skills to the point where I can actually fly it. Once I do that, I should be able to do some serious mining/killing.

^^^
To bad Kessies can't mine lol

I really don't mine alone anymore, i'ts pointless. Get some of your corp members to help you and make sure one has an Industrial ship. Make 2x if not 4x the amount of money then you would doing it solo.

And on a side note, check out Daza's sexy escape pod. You can see my Bantam in the background docking into the station.

Yea, generally after a few days of mining we can build a cruiser or 3. Battleships take longer, and frigates, well you might aswell just buy em, far easier.

As for the helping me Testament, thanks, i have that ship now - Fancy a cruiser built for ya?
