okay, so i got off from work at 22 ( been working since 11 with nearly no breaks because of custumers coming in all day... ) and i was driving home, and all of the sudden a turn pops up... and like 15 seconds later i've trashed my mothers car more then i've ever seen anything trashed, and all i got was a little scratch on my albow... nothing really at all...

anyways, has any of you ever been in an car accident ?

Hell, I'm getting my car back tomorrow from an accident. Legally I'm at fault, but I really think it wasn't my fault. The other person was driving, in a BLACK car, and 10:30 at NIGHT, without their headlights on, on a poorly lit road.

At least you're OK.

Being in a car accident sucks, everyone will tell you "at least you weren't hurt" but all you can think about is what you could've done to avoid the whole thing.

That reminds me of a lego a dog has chewed on...

Never been in an accident. I don't really drive that much anyway. My sister on the otherhand, she's totalled the car once (no idea why we didn't just get a new one...) and spun out/drove into a ditch 2 or 3 times.

Now the car's dashboard rattles when the car is idling, it sputters just being parked and the turn signal clicks at about 40x speed but doesn't show outside (so you hear 'clickclickclickclickclick' but there's not visible blinking outside the car).

It's a high quality Ford Contour, I tells ya!

This sunday morning at 11am, my friend, 17, was killed after falling asleep on the road. He hit a oncoming jeep cherokee both going at 70 miles per hour. The jeep was carrying a couple from canada they believe. All 3 died on impact and the couple is unidentifiable due to the jeep exploding.

My friend's both legs were broken and were only 'inplace' because of the skin.

He died the day after prom and had returned from a celebration 15 miles out of town. He visited everyone and told everyone, including his mom, how much he loved them. The whole front part of the 1990 truck was pushed into the seats.

In 3 Days the community helped out so much:
-Donations from the students totaled over $2,500 in 3 days.
-A car wash was put on by the students and made over $3,000 in 5 hours
-A bake sell by the students made over $900
-"Lunch Plates" were sold from 11am to 4pm and generated a unknown amount of money.(i would say around $4000)

That may not sound like alot but we live in a town populated by 15,000

At his services he is wearing his Prom tuxedo.(Funeral services are held Thursday at 3:00pm)

Rest In Peace.

Lets see, I can try to remember these in chronological order:

1: Hit a gate
2: Deer hit me
3: Deer Hit me
4: Hit my friends bumper, trashed my truck, bent his bumper
5: Deer hit me
6: Hit the guard rail at the High School, trashed my truck
7: Deer hit me
8: 2 Deer hit me
9: Deer hit me
10: Friend backed into my truck, $2000 worth of damage done, he gets to pay for it

Would you happen to have those high frequency deer whistler things that are supposed to scare deer away?

I live in Wisconsin and the only time people in my family hit deer is near Sturgeon Bay...where there's tons of them. Hasn't happened in around 4 years or so (and it jumped in front of a van...A VAN. That deer got F-ed up - still got its skull...well, parts of it anyway).

Maybe you should look into buying a Semi...or just cruise around on a moped .

Anyways, i've been lucky enough not to crash. Broken a mirror by backing out of my hella tight garage, but that's about it. Had a few close calls racing, but luck has been on my side. Sounds like you need roo bars (Aussies need not read further; you know what I'm talking about.) For the uninformed amongst us, roo bars are a bunch of bars placed on the front of your car to protect from running into kangaroos at night. Essential for night driving in the outback.

meh, my not so smart friend decided to race his "modded" cavalier vs a "modded" neon. omg

modded meaning they has exhaust tips to make their tiny 140 hp engine cars sound like a lawn mower, erm gee good thing he has that huge spoiler bolted on the back so his awsome leet fast (did i say 140hp engine) car doesnt just fly off the road....

anyways im going off here.

He tried to race, he lost control and ran his car through a fence and into a tree...

hes ok luckily , his car however, well ... medpacks are out of the question, it needs to be outright recycled.

How do they protect from running into Kangaroos? Or is it just to protect your car if you hit any?

They protect the car. It's much better to have your cheap roo bars beat up then the very expensive front bumper/engine.

and thats downright harsh. Theres no need to call the deceased a moron unless he was trying out for a darwin award. People drive at night and people fall asleep at the wheel, its a common problem because you dont need to be exhausted to fall asleep. The repetitious motion of passing objects on uneventful roads can lull people to sleep. Show a little respect.

I guess I'll try for saddest car wreck story of the year award... so...

Last year before prom one of my friends and her date hooks up with another couple to go eat dinner before. My friend is in back. Their at a stop light, with a green, trying to make a left turn (for anyone confused this is the US, so their in the middle of the road now trying to turn across traffic). All of a sudden their blindsided by a guy going ~100mph, the car is cut in half, my friend is thrown out of the back, even with her seatbelt on, dies instantly. The guy was DWI with a suspended liscense, and he left the country before his trial. Her brother (now only child) was serving in Iraq. got to come home for one week, see the funeral, then go back to Iraq.... gg.

This is gonna sound bad but so far I've quite enjoyed every crash I've been in. I mean, they havent been serious or anything (no one hurt, wouldn't be funny if someone was injured) but I've always just burst out laughing, can't not. They are just hilarious, like rollercoasters without the fair ground or something.

If anyone is gonna crash their car's, make sure Im there please.

Burr - it sounds like a conspiracy to me, damn those deer! Don't get Roo bars though, go for the 'carmageddon approach', also handy in traffic jam's.

Sorry to hear that Otto.

I've only been in one car crash. In a holiday to France my Dad thought it might be a good idea to rent out a car to see the whole of Lyon (oh joy, I didn't buy that GBA SP for nothing!)... Anyway 5 minutes since we left the car rental place, and my Dad, who's never driven in another country just comes out of this T junction, and a VW comes smashing into us... yay... The door like, caved in right near where I was sitting but it was all fine really. All i'd say is it's best not to drive in other countries.

Thanks everyone, Im going to the funeral in a minute along with 75% of the school(Everyone skipped school to attend).

I got a call from my friend in school and said that the school did not have enough sub. teachers due to his popularity.

May i add: He was 3 weeks from graduation. At the graduation services they will give his diploma to his family. He is most remembered with his 2004 graduation pictures.
