<div class="IPBDescription">beta 4a</div> i would like to thank the NS guys on a great great job.
even though it was mainly just 2 small changes, lerks and CO
it seems they got what they wanted, the lerks being able to attack while flying
lerks now can attack while flying, just not spam spores all day which its one of my favourite new things
also,the new CO
before i pretty much would leave a server when it went to co and play on a different server. At beta4 i didnt mind it to much, cause it ended rather quick most of the time
with beta 4a it has brought a whole new meaning to combat, its actually based on how good your team is as players, not " "OK,20 min into game, even all the noobs have HA+GL and onos now from leeching, lets play another 20 minutes" as it used to be
well, thats pretty much all i wanted to say
also thanks to the 1 person that was able to host the patch for the first hour(s)
and lunixmonster for having on there server so soon, Woot

Just had the best NS3.0 game ever on Bast, it was awesome <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Co games are actually fun now, nice job <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
is SOOOOOOO good seeing a mod team releasing quick small patches instead of doing what most teams do and do one mega patch every 8 months or so...
do it again! do it again! lots of little patches (i know they're tedious, but they are so so so much better)
one thought - how feasable would an auto-server-update program be? not that ran itself, (major flooding) but one that the server owner could hop into his server directory, run the prog, and it would auto-update all the files etc? possibly some thing to consider although i could understand why it wouldn't be worth it
Shanks, I'm pretty sure there is already a system for that..
I believe it is called "Steam," you may want to check it out some time. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
But a little more seriously, yes. There already is two general update tool for servers (Steam GUI or HLDS Update tool) and if/when NS gets put on semi-offical steam, I can only assume this would be possible..
but does steam let you auto-update the NS server files? ... to the best of my knowledge no. hldsupdatetool will do that, but what about the actual NS files
would make sense only if they continue to do lots of little patches instead of occasional huge ones
- every BIG patch brings BIG changes - resulting in all the flaming...
little changes allow a much more gradual evolution of the game, with things being quickly changed if they realise they may have made a mistake...
eg the lerk free flight - good idea, not balanced, 2 weeks later, it's fixed. jog done.
refresh?
a job well done for the devs
except the RT bug which was alledgedly fixed(in changelog) is still evident in some maps, i havent tested it fully however.
and super OC towers are back, im not sure what to think here, fun to make, but unbalancing

i have agree with you.
It was fun while it lasted. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> (edit: to be clear on things, I meant flying lerk without energy cost not me leaving ns lol)

Oh no! Flayra didn't make NS work on his crappy computer!
As for the messages, if you mean the autohelp, cl_autohelp 0.
Played about 10 rounds at b4 and hated it even more (aliens won all 10 rounds).
Played 4 rounds b4a today, enjoyed it. Go figure.
Anyways, great job Flayra and company. This may be the best version yet!

Sad thing is this is how NS:Combat was originally in the very first alpha/beta test. Timer and marines attacking. It's kind of sad it took this long to finally change it back to the old way even after a 5 page long forum post with everyone wishing for this style of play back. At least though in the end it looks like the timer is here to stay, finally =)
and all the skulks hide around a corner while 1 good person levels them up for them,
