<div class="IPBDescription">Here's your fix.</div> Hey guys I've been working with mahnsawce to make a fix for marine versus marine mode. This plugin (for metamod) is intended for combat until someone learns how to make MvM ns mode.

Forces team glows and fixes cc welding by swapping out the team 3 chair and spawning in a team 2 chair.

EDIT: I'm not 100% sure where this post should be so I figure I should stick it here where all the MvM talk is. If a mod finds it necesarry to move it go ahead.

    So, it's just a plugin?

    Do you need to change anythings in maps to get it to work?

    No, im not sure 'how exactly' it works because im not viewing to code but it either picks up on the gametype or the actual map.

    Ok this was done by having the plugin check how many cc's there are at the game start. If there are two it switches it to MvM mode. This makes the players glow and it right away switches out the team 3 cc and spawns a team 2 cc in its place. The team2 cc is weldable and can't be damaged by its own team because its team 2 and not 3. Then the plugin keeps checking to see if the team 2 cc is dead or not. If it's dead it does 10k damage to the team 3 cc thus ending the game. It's a pretty simple concept. I might try and mess around with recoding it to see if I can get AvA to work. I'm guessing the problem is that since there is no team 2 hive and only a team 3 hive you can't use your abilities since you don't have the hive that goes with it them. By spawning in a team 2 hive and moving the other one to the side it might work.

    Wow everyone I know is pretty lame, they like the weldable stuff, but they hate the glow... pffffft. Is there a version with the fix but no glow?

    Yeah I can see how with FF OFF the no glow can make things more... interesting, (confusing to say the least) but it really isn't nessesary, possible add a command to turn it on or off?     Can't force custom skins. Not sure why but ns has a weird way of handling skins and it keeps changing it back whenever I try to change it. I've been using ripents to convert most of the combat maps into MvM maps. The client needs to download nothing, but the server just needs to replace their version of the map with these new ones and also be running my plugin. My clan's server will soon be running a 24/7 MvM map server with converted combat maps and custom ones.

    I made a plugin just like this one (minus the autodetect.. used a maplist instead [And it took about a month.. but meh =P]), but could never get the welder fix done =P

    Nice pluggy, nice to have one for metamod =)

    make only your own team glow, then it wont affect the gameplay much.

    MvM is just plain stupid, I sure hope no server starts using this lame plugin. >:(

    If you want MvM, go play CS, nuff said.

    I've been running tests with ns_mvm. Right now the problem is that res nodes crash the game somehow. No idea why. I tried using ripents on veil to rearange the stuff and make it MvM... it crashed. So I continued to remove all the res nodes and it worked, but team 2 commander couldn't drop anything. So now what we are left with is:

    Why exactly does it crash?
    Why exactly can't the team 2 commander drop anything?

    From there all thats left is to try to code a fix for it with metamod.

    considering therte are no res nods, That's kind of enough reason to stop.

    personaly the reason i think that is because team 2's spawning would be different and it starts with a aliens res nod, not marine, hence it would cause a HUGE problem (aliens tower giving marines res, just dosn't work). That's my theory on that subject, even in Co_ in early testing, (when we first got the thing to work, oh those were the days) the res nod for team 2 (it was originaly tested for ns_ then we changed the name to co_ hence the nods) the res nod as I weas saying was an alien one, but of course when the match started it disapeared. So I'm thinking the alien res nod would cause the fault... (maybe a way around it? like a prebuilt res nod on that one? im not to sure I havnt tested)
