The longest NS game I have evey played was ns_caged and it lasted for a little over 2 hours 45 minutes. It was crazy and only when one person quit out did one team finally win.
5 and a half hours on ns_nancy. This was a game on 1.04 when a relocation to sub-space went well. We had a two hive lockdown but then the aliens got control of noname and so we were boxed in sub. Most of their team were fades and we were surviving on 1 rt. We swapped the one hmg and shotgun between 6 players. Gradually over 2 hours we saved enough res to get a heavy armoury train with all the accessories and enough for reserve. We managed to make our way to port where we sieged and by that time all the aliens gave up and f4'd. Best.Game.EVER. THAT is why I love ns. Amazing.
Long games are fine if both teams are trying to mount an assault. Long games are stupid if the marine team turtles in a hive with a turret farm, heavy machine guns, heavy armor, grenade launchers, and refuses to come out. Wow, that sounded familiar to Ns_tanith verison 2.1.
I play a bit too much CO (habbit im geting out off) longest CO game I've had is 1 hour. Everyone was lvl 10 and someone joined half way through, got lvl 10 very quickly. Mad lockdown. Just had to kick the onos somewhere tneder and make them stop trying to hit jet packers and move onto the cc.
like 6 hours on the "new" NS_Nancy. We had relocated to the port side chamber, and had "locked" the door after a 4 hour push on a hive failed. (put a turret next to the door and had someone jump infront of it) We almost seiged our way out <.< we only lost because an alien changed team and ended up in the comm chair and recycled everything like a jack***.

We played a 3 hour game about 5v5 with no real advantage on either side and no end in sight. Then one guy got up and walked over to the cooler to get a drink when he tripped over the power cord that was chained to about 4 people including the host. Needless to say he didn't come back to the LAN for a very long time.
around 3 hrs on the map with via duct(forgot the name) we relocated to cargo after getting onos rushed while we were destroying a hive. we ended up killing about 25 onos. the game ended when an admin on the alien team slayed us
My longest ever was on 1.04 - was 7 hours 14 minutes - on the old ns_eclipse luckily it was on a saturday.. diddnt get to bed whilst 4am
was MAD tho, ill see if i can find some screenies of it somwhere...
My "long" games are like 30-40 minutes tops, with a record of 70 mins i think....
Eh, my longest game was maybe 3 1/2 hours in 1.04 on ns_nothing. We holed up in cargo hive since our main base got destroyed.
I was a base guard, and we didn't have enough money to get a prototype lab at the time, so all I had was a HMG to guard base with. Even so, I managed to kill several fades trying to sneak in through the vent. Only a single HA had survived the destruction of base and he lasted a good 20 minutes before falling. Eventually, we finally got a proto back up, geared up in HA and stormed viaduct, which the aliens stopped, after which I got bored and left. Killing too many fades in the exact same spot does that to you.

longest i had was around 4-6 hours i forgot
but sadly, these long fun awesome games are fading away...i havn't had a good game in some time
Back in 1.04, I was still a little nubbiepie, so I never even knew there was a game timer in the scoreboard. I think the longest games I've played never went over an hour and ten minutes.
Usually what I do on extremely long games as an alien is go gorge, and just build structures everywhere on the map, starting with 8 DCs near marine start for the onoses. This was great on maps like Bast, where all I would do is build towers to the sky in Refinery and Atmospheric Proc with the massive res income. Eventually, the sheer number of structures lags the game.
Why not? I prefer a little decisiveness in my gaming experience. I wish servers would cap game time at 60 minutes, and then just abruptly switch maps like CS without pronouncing a winner or loser.

4 hrs 30 mins on caged. For some reason, caged always has long games when i play
180 minutes and 1 second on ns_lost (i think thats it), game ended after a coordinated f4 by the marine team.
Ever notice how all these games are usually the result of marines relocating into one of the hives and farming it and the aliens have a real hard time getting in without their 3rd hive abilties. (i suppose thats kinda the point aint it )
I've played a 3.5 hour CO game on a 32 player server that never seemed to end. It feels like the first world war, really(you know, the uselessness, the entrenchment and the constant bombardment). The marines where half GLers half shotgunners and they kept welding the commchair like crazy. The GL spam just wouldn't end, constant rumble of grenades going of everywhere.
Long distance bile bomb bombardment and umbraing lerks was what won the game eventually while the onos and fades where the big distraction.

I have had one good really long game in 3.0/2.0. I mean 1.04 was obviously the daddy at long games. Oh how I miss them.
marines had 2 hive lock down, with HA. Aliens eventually got a 2nd hive, 3 fades, and a whole lot of acid rocket. I died over sixty times trying to kill the phase gate they never welded.
Just over four hours. It was the first time I really discovered how great NS is, and how good it is to play a truly epic battle, with both sides coming back from the brink of defeat several times.
NS 1.04 with various server plugins (no real change to gamebalance, just "fun" plugins), a little around 5 hours 30 minutes - THAT was a game...
After I finaly managed to trash the CC, I felt like I would faint - but the game went on for 10 minutes because of the JP hunt through all vents... *g*
oh - i forgot on which map it was, but it was a pure clash of the world... *kekeke*
On ns_mineshaft in 2.01 I played close to 3 hour game. The marines got rushed early base was going down. Luckly there was someone in the sewer hive so i dropped him a CC on the upper lever and set up base.
The aliens were simply unable to get up the ramp with Onos's and we hald the fades off. Somewhere around 2 hours we finaly saved the res for a HA train which went around and won us the game.

And when you win them, well its what makes NS NS

When your at a stalemate, and the only way to overcome defeat is to throw away your cs attitude and work together.
or was it 2.0 :/I seriously think it was 1.04 though.
