<div class="IPBDescription">Something has gone wrong...</div>Hey, umm....
I was playing NS just like any other day, but something weird happened - first, I noticed that the music that plays on the title screen was playing at about 1/2 the speed it should be. Also, once I joined a server, everything had an echo. Jumping noises, walking, and worst of all, gunfire went on for ages. I don't know what's causing this, but frankly, it's quite annoying. I've tried reinstalling Steam and NS. Anyone have a suggestion? I know my computer is good enough to run NS as I play Half-life 2 mods all the time as well.

First of all go into your userconfig.cfg and paste in the following:
developer 1 (or developer 2)
condebug 1
this (especially developer 2) combined should start a massive console spam in a file called qconsole.log in your HL directory. See if it errors anything. (can also be that it makes a condump file but I think only the condump command did that, HL has so many buildin log options. hehe)
I do not advice to run condebug always due to the fact that it fills up a log.
I tried that with developer 1 and 2. no log file or anything. Interestingly enough, it also runs up my CPU usage to 50% or over after i close NS. Like, until I restart. The sound and movement are laggy, etc...any other ideas...?
Check your sound control panel if you use EAX just to be sure.
As for the 1/2 speed thing... that's... funky. Again, almost sounds like an audio effect- why it doesn't happen in game beats me o0
UPDATE: I have just discovered that I didn't have microsoft .net framework 2. I installed it, and now the game runs more smoothly, but I still get hte problem with 50% usage. Suggestions?
Actually, give us full system specs:
CPU + Speed +32/64 bit /single/dual/quad core
Ram type/speed/single or dual channel
Motherboard
Vid Card
Sound Card
