Linksys Router Problems

<div class="IPBDescription">Opening port 27015 doesnt work...</div> ok, here's the scoop. I want to create a NS dedicated server using HLDS.EXE and i have added the following to my shortcut

-game ns +port 27015 -noipx -maxplayers 16 +map ns_bast

it starts up fine, i get all the appropriate won verification/map creation messages

ending with 3 adding master server lines

then i get nothing, as it is waiting for ppl to join


Now...I can join fine from my own computer, because i'm within the router but otehrs...
I have a linksys 4port cable/dsl router and i've allowed port 27015 for both my comps' router assigned IPs
ANd yet only i can join. I've also tried adding 27000-27015 and other outgoing ports, but i'm not blocking them with norton's firewall on the DS computer. I've even tried it with the software firewall disabled.

NOTHING WORKS! NO ONE CAN JOIN. all it says is "reconnect...retrying..."
The funny thing is, i can create non dedicated sven coop or counterstrike games on the computer i'm using now, but on the computer that i'm trying to use for a DS isn't creating any game correctly.

Can anyone give advice?

You need to open the following ports

TCP 7002, 5273
UDP 27015, 27010, 27012

I also open port 27005

I believe setting the DMZ to the IP of the server will also do the trick, but that opens up every port. Its almost like a raw connection, but you're still going through your ISP.

While it isn't the best method, it is an alternative.
