I'm now finally releasing it for playtesting and general criticism, now I know its not perfect, the following issues i am aware of:

-the door in the glazed indoor/outdoor section extends through the wall when operated
-polycounts are generally quite high, esp. in the hive
-i need to reference the wad file, checking where i got everything from & giving appropriate credit

please let me know what you think, and if anybody owns a server (based in europe preferably) and would like to mass playtest it, please post and if we could arrange something that would be awesome.

    once i've got it downloaded i'll put it up on my server so you don't have to go through that sites pages to get to it.


    just fyi. If you EVER use that file host again i am going to hunt you down and kill you. It's given me like 8 options for mirrors.
    So far i've tried 4 of them and none of them worked.
    It's accused me of being a bot and kicked me off 3 times,
    told me i entered the validation code wrong (i didn't) twice

    I give up <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />.

    just added a second mirror for the zip file, so no excuses now! :>

    the hive is pretty small indeed, that might need looked at, but there are three entrances which counterbalance in the rines favour (maybe, we shall see!)

    I really like the lighting.

    Unfortunately it may make skulks harder to see.... otherwise thumbs up.

    Hive is way too small to defend with too many angles to easly shoot at. Vent/pipe system is awesome but to narrow and complex / disorientating for co (too much time spent away from key areas). Map is Easy to get lost and turned around in with current Large size and layout. Would also make a great start to a ns map.

    Yeah the lightning rocks, very colorful. Maybe the yellow enviroment light is a little bit too intense.. you could tone it down a tad bit and/or put some orange in it...
    You shouldnt change the hive until it has been playtested since it looks awesome. However i sence problems if you can shoot the hive from inside the hallways. You can change this by making a turn in the corridor to block sight like in co_angst or by hanging the hive higher...

    I'm kind of hoping the hive will even itself out due to the numerous routes out for kharaa, but playtesting will show this for sure. Also the numerous entries almost benefits the aliens due to the resulting fragmentation of the marine force.

    Trust me, I would love to make it into an NS map if I only had the time!

    Sorry guys - I've been away from ns for a long time, are people generally developing maps for NS2 instead of NS now? I noticed a few around.

    Any more crits? + I'm not sure what the best way to playtest the map would be, would anyone be up for playtesting it at an arranged time & we'll try to bring in some randoms to fill up the numbers?

    One Question- WHY is there is a 10meg co_one.wad file in your .zip ... Its not needed to run your map.
