Free to use, can resize videos, change the compression codec, et cetera.
I'm pretty sure it can only save as avi, though.
Well if you had a Mac!
mantrid, i picked up virtualdub, how do i resize stuff :o
what's the deal
edit: alright i'm using compression now.. we'll see how this turns out.
if you know how to take a 233mb 640x480 vid, cut it down to like 320x240, and reduce the filesize drastically to like under 30mb, please tell me, because this experimenting is taking forever.
If you really want to go into filesize calcuation and fast/normal motion etc... You should look into getting a 1st pass then a 2nd pass. This will then give you control over the filesize bitrate and some other shizzle I don't get well I get what it's for but I can't get it to work and stuff XD
So I just stick to 1pass quality... Easy to set up...

if ya have sound, make sure it's also either already compressed and use AVI sound. Or compress it with mp3 to further reduce the filesize
Just to bother you sweetie <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
And yes, we all know macs are good at atleast this one thing <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
If I wanted to gloat BSD>OSX. But I'm not a elitist ######hole.
I agree on Premiere being so much better than pinnacle. Pinnacle is okay for the very basics of video editing but Premiere is video editing sex stick.

You are right, if not for the simple fact that Premiere seems to lose ALL OF THE F***** FILES every now an then....
Restart the computer, start premire,
Premiere: Whoops 200 files gone
Me: What? But, they are where I left them, didn't even touch them!
Premiere: Sure?
Me: Yeah, try looking again!
Premiere: Nope, can't find them.
Me: But... what the... they.. are... I mean.. look, just let me assign them again, ok?
Premiere: Whatever....
Me: Ok, I assigned 30 of 5000ish files
Premiere: Oh yeah, you mean those files, Gee coulda tell me earlier, yeah I found them, all back in again.
Me: -_-
I don't have that issue with Premiere, does it do this all the time when you restart and reload the ppj?
Do macs currently support DualCore Intel Conroes? Don't feel like googling <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
For simple encoding (ie: divX, Xvid, wmv?)
Virtual Dubb > anything
It does what is should without any bells or whistles. Video's though, that's an entirely different story. You'd end up cuting and pasting a lot of different files, without any form of interface. Perhaps using Nandubb or avijoin and stuff to paste it together or something.
DON'T use it for video editing <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

If you were to go to apple.com and just look at the front page. You'd see "The New MacBook Featuring Intel Core 2 Duo" Aka Conroe afaik
