Sick is a good word for it! It looks good, but it makes my stomach turn - and I know you're aware of that. I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it, but welders seem like a natural choice to burn this stuff off - they already work on webs. You'd use welders to unblock a vent or ungum a switch.

Another idea: radio sounds and voice comm coming through creep get interference and get staticy.

Looks really cool. I have never seen a game attempt that and I think ya'll will pull it off great.

You know what would be cool about the infestation? If you made it so that if marines walk through the infestation they'd move slower and that they'd need to use a torch or an incendiary to clean up the infestation. That would give the players other stuff to worry about.

    Major bump ftw yes?

But yeah it is a very good video demonstration, would have been a lot better if a room was shown that was covered in the infestation <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    Where we can download the Beta version of this ? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" /> we must see this thing in Half-Life 2 engine <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    For example

    bind "x" "npc_create Kharaa_Infestation"

It came to mind as I was reading, that if you can have brushes reshape, then you should be able to have a trigger brush shape with it. This would allow you to turn abilities on and off rather easily. Hope this thought helps you out.

Yeah seriously, I'm a big fan of the first Natural Selection. Is the beta out for this yet? That alien infestation looks totally awesome, I really hope they include it in the game.

I wonder how this is going to look in the new engine. It seems that all the screenshots and videos from the past have been using NS1's engine to demonstrate their new technology to us. The teaser demonstrates their beautiful engine with dynamic lighting, etc, etc. It would be great to see another video of the dynamic infestation in effect but this time using their new engine <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

I heard from the grape vine the the video they showed was actually in Max's (now the NS2) engine. Can't remember where from though...

Point of interest: The dynamic infestation video WAS running on Max's own engine, which has evolved into the current NS2 engine.

Addressing your post: Hells yes. That would be awesome.
