My Work
<div class="IPBDescription">Yes first time I have decided to post something</div>Most of you know by now, and if you don't I work for a Home Theatre company. Now since I am fairly proud of the work we do, and we get to go into some massively expensive houses to work on stuff.
I will be listing the equipment used underneath the pictures, in case one is curious.
So, occasionally I will update this thread with works in progress, and completed works that we have taken pictures of. Keep in mind while reading this, these pictures are of actual houses we are working on/worked on.
So, to start, a basic remodel of the basement near Canton, SD (Look it up if you want to know where it is.)

What did it cost the buyer?
Anyone who can afford a giant TV like that can afford a much less ugly piece of furniture to stick right under the TV.

Or a recliner that doesn't look like it's made of pleather.
They are mid 60's or thereabouts, you can't expect to be modern. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
Total cost: $14,500. US
The next couple of jobs will look nicer and are more modern which you will see soon.
And Cyndane, I know a lot of folks in their mid-sixties who are more hip re: modern than most on these forums. Nice try - no cigar for again trying to stereotype an age group older and wiser than yours. <img src="http://www.ibparcade.com/style_emoticons/default/chair.gif" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />
I hope the next one looks nicer. If I was to spend THAT kind of money on a home theater system there had better be no wires showing. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

i like wires. they let you move date from point to point. they should be displayed so that they are non-intrusive and allowed to do their duty. yay for visible wiring!
Oh wait, that's what everyone else is already doing. Pissants.
Naturally, that isn't why I started this reply, it is time for Project number #2.
Again this is done by older people who actually do have taste for a more modern look. Of course some old people assume I was blanketing it as a stereotype, when they don't live here and know the norm.

In the second room, is that thing under the TV the speaker?
Did that come with it or is there someplace you can buy sticky butterflies to slap on all your furniture? :o
awww... I want a butterfly for my TV now.

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Butterflies are attracted to sodium so you might just wanna lightly dust your TV with kosher salt and elave the door open or something.
* a flatmate of mine back in university came back into their room once just in time to see a seagull flying out their window carrying one of their socks.
Hmm. That second looks nice, but the wallset speakers on the first one are just too nice (if a little bit of a ###### to upgrade <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />)
And the second seems a bit cheap (labour cost wise...)
USD23,500 ~ GBP15,000
Now, given that a decent 55" plasma will set you back the better part of about 7-8 grand (depending on how you haggle...) that's over 1/2 the total cost just in the screen.
But still, if I had 15gran, I'd do something good with it, like use it as a deposit for a flat...
Patch: A good plasma 55" costs around 5,000 US, currently, when we sold the set yes it did go for around 7500 US. To be fair it wasn't that cheap of an install + labor. We don't normally have upwards of 50,000 spent with us just for one room. Now if we are doing a whole house (distributed audio/video/coax/phone/central vac/home theatre room/etc.) We can run anywhere from 50K starting to above 500K all depends on equipment etc.
Thaladrin: That is a real room, in the real world. You should step outside and explore it. (Its larger then HL1/HL2 worlds)

This next project will be a while before it is completed. We are doing the entire house when it comes to the wiring so I figured I'd take a few pictures of the landscape to start with as the inside isn't anywhere near done.

Oh, that white stuff, is called ICE. Say it together kids, Iii Ceee Eee, that is what happens when water freezes in a waterfall.
I omitted the front yard as it isn't nearly as complete.
Ignore the construction material in these next two, the first one is of the basketball court upstairs. The second one is of the elevator, which runs in this three-story house.

There was plenty of visible wiring where I worked. And we learned that it is way too easy to make expensive electronics catch on fire.
