<div class="IPBDescription">And now for something completely different...</div>Castles, dungeons, dragons... and lots more...

Anyway, some of you may know me from the Voogru community or from the Garry's Mod forums as Chuckstar(just call me Chucky <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />). I also made other maps like ns_chucksiege and gm_kattenbak.

Normally my maps are huge and this one is no exception. I also always try to make something different. Ns_savethequeen has a medieval RPG look and feel. The main map has a castle, an evil dragon nest(hive area) and a cave between these two areas. There is plenty of small stuff to discover in the main map.

I always put some secrets in my maps and this time it's the trophy room and the ReadyRoom Adventure. The ReadyRoom Adventure is a small dungeon located somewhere in the ReadyRoom with puzzles that require teamwork(like in Sven-coop). The trophy room is a room dedicated to the players at the Voogru server.

I usually try not to make one-off comments before at least downloading the map and playing it for myself before criticising, but this time I'll make an exception:

    "Lerk paradise?"

The cave is supposed to balance it out, since it acts like a crossroads for all the major areas. At least, that's how I intended it to be. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> HA/onos work best for the cave and JPs/lerks for the outside areas.

Neat! Screenshots bring back memories of the Castle in Mario 64!

I have released a new version of this map. (v4 beta) I fixed the crash bug so no more troubles with that. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

I also made some small changes: the difficulty at the end of the rr adventure is up and I changed the mages tower area a bit. Some other small changes here and there as well to give more cover for aliens.

Played it on a public server today, was very fun indeed. But the light in the readyroom was way too bright on my screen. Good work though <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />

Somehow the brightness from the previous map does not reset. I put an env_gamma in the map set to 1.0, but that didn't fix it... I think it's a bug with NS. Simply pressing escape twice will fix it though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/marine.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::marine::" border="0" alt="marine.gif" />

    Oh and thanks for the mirror. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

Fun thing to do: Drop a TF on the revolving island just outside the alien's hive area; then you can drop turrets all around it AND on the outside edges AND inside the hive! They will never stop working until the TF is destroyed and it takes up a lot less room!

DO NOT remove this function, it's FUNNY!

Version 4 (final, not beta) is here! The castle is a LOT more defendable now. Here's to some fun alien castle sieges.<ul><li>Added roof to castle</li><li>Added a hole in the Dragon Cave's "head"</li><li>Added fire damage to the "eyes" of the Dragon Cave</li><li>Added another teleport at the end of the rr adventure</li><li>Changed the hp of the walls/glass at the castle:<ul><li>Left tower, front window: 4500 -> 8000</li><li>Left tower, side window: 2000 -> 6000</li><li>Right tower, front window: 6000 -> 9000</li><li>Right tower, side window: 2000 -> 6000</li><li>Top pieces of wall: 1100 -> 1500</li><li>Bottom pieces of wall: 4000 -> 4500</li></ul></li><li>Fixed gamma on map change</li><li>Fixed spawning hives by raising the hive room roof</li><li>Fixed a lot of stuck/stickyness issues (in the main map, not rr adventure!)</li><li>New option in the admin room to turn the water damage
off at the mages tower (also will now tell when it's toggled)</li><li>Compiled with full vis/extra rad for better visuals</li></ul>I played this version on the VH2 server already and I know the RR adventure can still be a bit buggy. Not really sure how to fix it.. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":0" border="0" alt="wow.gif" />

Great map. Becoming quite the hit on our custom server, even though we generally only put siege-style NS maps up. Let me know if you'd like me to mirror the file for you, so people don't have to deal with the silly 'timer' on that upload site to download <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
