Help me with my school project

I have to do a pretty involved project for one of my classes this semester, involving 'something political, and something to place online for the world to see'. I'm looking for a few of you to perhaps help me as there isn't a metric crapton of information out there as far as locations go.
The project is basically a blog detailing landfills (preferably in the midwest united states), using Google Earth to get an overhead view, as well as possibly finding any local news articles about the landfill. I try to remain fairly neutral, as far as commenting (i.e. no 'HURR FURNGULLY SAVE TEH RAINFOREST' stuff'), and let the linked articles or pictures speak for themselves.
If anyone has any google earth locations, news stories, etc, or just want to comment (preferably on the blog and not on here) that would be awesome.
Thanks NS forums crew!
edit: might help if I link it.

I'm sure some research into government superfund sites or Renard Isle or PCB disposal could yield something of use.
There's also a covered-over landfill next to a middle school in Green Bay...the name of the landfill escapes me though, so that's not really helpful...err...
You could always try typing in random city names + landfill(s) into google or something.
Bumping since I made a few new posts, and and still trying to get people (i.e. you guys) to do stuff. I'm supposed to have a 'progress report' sent in on tuesday.

Well... kinda don't live there... is it ok to post things from other parts of the world?
