against odds victory, and a cool trick
when i first joined the server, it was three marines versus one alien. i knew i couldn't let this injustice sit there unattended. i quickly secured my alien position and morphed to a gorge as fast as possible. the map was ns_eclipse, and it seemed like the match had only just started, as no maines were to be seen anywhere. suddenly hive sight alerts me an offense tower is under attack. i trudge over there, and dispatched the lone marine with my spit. i knew this place wouldn't hold ou, so i just ran. i explored the map and found pretty much every recource node that wasn't near the marine base, and plopped a tower on there. now that i had secured enough recourse, i would start building huge offense tower near the enemy base, not too close, not too far. they pretty much halted all marine progress for at least a while. during that time, more offense and defense alike went up. it was sitll just me and this other alien (who was securing every recource tower we had) against these three marines. it almost seemed too easy. i had contructed our second hive when a massive attack one one of our offense walls occured. i tried waddling my arse over there as quickly as i could. just before i went into the fray, i morphed into a fade, and obliterated the threat. crisis over. i went on a minor offensive, and found that the marines weren't doing as well as i'd thought. they had like 3 resource towers, and two turrets guarding those towers. i didn't care, they probably had a trick up their sleeve somewhere... another hive goes up as marines continue their weak offensive. our third hive goes up, and i decide "what the heck, might as well just morph to onos and charge like i never charged before". so i did, and took out everything except for their main base with little to no resistance. as i was destroying one of their resource towers, i saw a teleporter. so i started attacking when SCHZOOOM, im teleported directly behind their defenses in the marine spawn area. right in front of me was their golden command console, no marines, out of range of turrets, and nothing but an arms lab and an observation tower to get in my way. i attacked the command console almost immediately, to discover there was nobody in there... what on earth were they trying to pull? so i ignored the console and smashed their spawning portals to death, thusly, ending anything they had going. the rest of the game consisted of going outside their base and finding two marines with their backs turned. kharaa with again. before this match, i had little to no experience with kharaa, i only knew that gorges built things, and fades and onos' were the powerhouses. i have so much experience that i feel confident i could function very well in any kharaa situation.

oh, and the cool trick was that aliens can use the marines teleporters. i did not know this before today. thanks for listening to my glorified story. =victory

Heh, nice story. Aliens using phase gates can be a little risky.. when I'm commanding I make sure to have at least one turret defending the phase gate at home base. It helps to shout "OMGWHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" before diving through a phase gate. (its an ancient battle prayer, brings luck)
