Im blind i tell ya
When playing as commander and i have motion sensor upgrade i cant see blips of moving aliens. Plus also when my marines can see aliens in view i cant see them on the map, im able to see alien structures just not the aliens themselfs.
Is this a bug or is the game supposed to be this way?

Hey Grey_Ghost That was some good Cargo bay hive taking over in ns_nothing.
Well anyways.....
For the few times that I commanded, I get the same problem.... I only see marines shooting at nothing. I can see the buildings just fine but no aliens.... Any solutions?
also INGAME when your not commanding and you got motion tracking i don't see aliens. the motion tracking sprite goes on the hive but thats it.
I don't.
The manual clearly states that the commander should see any aliens the marines see, or what aliens are around them rather.
I have had one commander follow aliens around with attack waypoint orders even, but just the one commander so far.

I suggest trying a game with one or two others where the alien and the marine stand side by side to confirm this.
I *know* I don't have this problem. I see aliens both on the minimap as little red moving dots and in the commander view...

The known bugs with this are:
1) motion traking does not show up
2) even with scaner sweeps and marines giving visual feed back the comander never sees squat
3) it does not effect the aliens at all, not sure why
however the drawinvisible (a server variable) comand will let comanders/marines see the motion traking, it also permanantly puts all marines on hive sight (so far as I have tested)
ME TOO, this has to be the worst bug ever.
Great game though, keep up the good work.
System Specs.
GeForce2MX (Running OpenGL) (either res)
P4 1.4GHZ
128MB RDRam
WinXP Pro
Newest Nvidia drivers
Please help, commanding is too hard this way.
At a guess (actually not a guess at all.. I'm positive) you guys who are seeing this problem are seeing it on Linux based servers.
F.o.R's server is win32 and hence the reason that Slappy doesn't see it.
A simple test is for one (or all) of you to jump on to F.o.R underworld (I'm sure slappy can supply the IP) and see if you still have this problem.
You'll also notice that the particle effects sometimes act mungy on Linux based server (e.g. the stream of 'smoke' from Res Nodes is much reduced versus Win32 servers).
It's a known problem and presumably being worked on. (Flayra has had his rest now so I've got my whip ready... )
joev.
No. The problem is that HL is not supposed to have entities visible only for some players and you have to cheat with that. Maybe the dev team did something wrong (delta.lst )
