i'm pretty sure it was stated somewhere that it was going to be ~ $20

i thought he said it "may" be released for 29.99 over steam if they use the source engine -shrug- i forget what was said.
- either of the same ilk (FPS and RTS games)
- or those available on Steam.
One thing that UW needs to look at is where the majority of there fan base is. Do alot of them have 50 bucks they want to spend. I wouldnt pay 50 bucks for CS:S and its one of the top rated FPS.
Seeing as dont have one so that would mean i would not be able to play ns2. So if valve does not get its act together and start thinking by themself why they are still the only company that only offers a credit card payment online, while most things that can be bought online can be done thru alternetive methods. I wont be playing NS2 wich would totally suck.
Greetz Solid
Just put a free weekend in, an we will have LOTS of ppl playing NS2. Remember that.
I would'nt pay more then $ 25,- (i.e. $ 24,99) for NS2, because it was free for such a long time. Yes, it IS great, but it's not as demanding as HL2. Remember episode one? VERY BIG game, and still just $ 20,-.
Heck, I'd pay € 25,- perhaps, about $ 30,-.<!--fontc--></span><!--/fontc-->
Heck I'd pay $50 for NS2.

never, its to much for an multiplayer game only.
Okay if a REAL singelplayer in it with story and stuff okay.
I realy like NaSe, and 30 $ are a fair price, but im sure many people say 50 $ are tooooo much. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/nerd-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::nerdy::" border="0" alt="nerd-fix.gif" />
okay i pay max 1.000.000 $ for NS2
No realy, i cant belive that you pay 50 bucks for NS.
What can inside the Game that its cost 50 bucks?
P.S. i cant remind that flayra say that Zen of Sudoku financed NS2, but if the game cost 50 bucks, where is the money?
Maybe in his bag <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />
But im very sure that NS2 will cost 20 bucks.
That's a nice, fair Price thats good for NS too.
39.99 - 49.99US?

i agree with 39.99
29.99 is way to cheap for a newly released multiplayer game. Including for newer games being released.
for example
In my own opinion Flayra will release the game for the price of what games are going for on the market and they arent cheap. If he doesnt thats extra money they wont make, publishers make their games expensive because people actually buy them. Until that madness stops the prices of newer and newer games are just gonna go up in price.
Call of Duty 3 = 59.99
Doom3 was more than 40 dollars
Quake 4 was more than 40 dollars
and hte list goes on. As the graphics engines increase and better looking games are getting pumped out the prices of games go up each time one is released, for you people saying you wouldnt pay more than 29.99 you are cheap skates. lol

The Red Orchestra guys have been selling ROO for $25 on Steam, the only differnece is that they didnt have to split 50/50 with valve for the engine. IDK if that is how NS2 will work, however if that is the case then a higher price is certainly reasonable. Note also that I would have payed $60 for ROO and would be willing to pay the same for NS2 <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
i'd pay $100 AUS for ns.... thats around $75 US (i'd pay more if i have to). As long as it lasts me 3 years+ like NS1 has.

You sir are a nutter <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
Although I'd imagine pricing NS2 around the same price as other marketed Source modifications at the time of the release would be a good idea. So I'd assume $20-25 acceptable.

Red Orchestra: Ostfront won at Make something Unreal Contest, so they had the Enginelicence for free.
Only thing they had to pay was the Fee for distributing it on Steam, and I think it's 1/3rd at max.
My guess would be: Less than what the "next big thing" will cost(game which will be/has been hyped to death) and enough to keep it profitable. I donno, 30-40€, much depending on the "quality". Probably much closer to 30 than 40, but thats just me...
I might be overly optimistic. To give some perspective, looking at one of the "hot games" today, Battlefield 2142 which costs 38€ (delivered) on Play.com. Locally, its anything between 40€ and 50€ (just the game).
I'm guessing we're going to sell NS2 for $19.99 U.S., but that's just a guess at this point.
US$ 19,99 is much better for me and for the others brazillians, because it will cost like R$ 45,00 ~ R$ 50,00!!
so, my wallet won't suffer if this price keep like this!! ^^
