<div class="IPBDescription">Directed to the Devs</div>I was just wondering if theres anyway at all of fixing the gamma ramp so that its compatible with 64bit versions of windows?
Its probably somthing like long ints or something( 32bit long vs 64bit long) just guessing, I'm pretty noob at the programing stuff.
Don't feel like fixing it? Give me the code and I'll learn how to fix it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

Set the value of cl_gammaramp to 0 should avoid the problem.

I know how to get around it, I want it working.
The game just doesnt look as good without the overbrightning ns uses.

Well I dont have a 64 bit windows..but a quick question..What does that command do?
We decided to make it a workaround since we didn't have a 64-bit system to test it on at the time.
To RedDragonGecko: I'm afraid you have to use the video card utilities or a third party program to crank the gamma up for the game if you want it overbright.
It disables the forced gammaramp which makes the game overbright. It was a workaround since people with 64-bit systems were having problems with it, as well as some (rare) video card owners.

Just out of curiosity, why is NS dark enough by default that it requires overbrightening? Was there some logic to this choice, or is that lost in the mists of time?
Theoretically, would it be possible to patch the game to be bright enough to run on normal gamma values, and skip the whole super-gamma-ramp issue? I suspect that might be an awful lot of work though...that might require redoing every texture in the game with a new brightness or something.
ps: Now that the forums are back up and the hot debate about how ns is too hard to learn is on again, I'd just like to point out that it is almost impossible to see, let alone hit anything on some maps with default gamma settings D:
