Wasn't he trialed by the local laws of Iraq and not US laws? Meh, perhaps this was a job for the international court in Den Haag instead <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

Hence the hanging part which some people clearly don't understand
he was tried in Iraq, with an Iraqi judge, with an Iraqi lawyer and under Iraqi law. In Iraq, death by firing squad has been abolished but hanging has not. Hussein said he would rather have a death by firing squad. He also said (to the judge) he didn't want the sentencing to come out on November 5th because that would bolster the Republican party in the upcoming elections.
edit: this is also not the only trial he is a defendant in, there are others and he could receive the death penalty there as well. The sentence is set to be carried out within 30 days but death sentences automatically begin an appeal process which can delay the event by months. (this is all within Iraqi law)
The U.S. doesn't give much for the whole international court thingy.
Saddam Hussein could be never be sentenced to anything until US troops get out from there. It just for people who like Saddam at Iraq to support a civil war. Don´t forget Iraq is not just a bunch os muslims. People there have a strong tribal ties between them. There are different kinds of muslim religions like Sunni (Saddam tribal supporters) and Shi'a (Those tribals who Saddam killed). If you want to know what happened to Iraq being such chaotic place, I will need to tell the history of Iraq from the day of it´s formation.

Personally, I don't think North korea has the nuke. Some russian guy took a bunch of illegal picture of inside north korea and posted them on the internet not long ago, and after looking at their you realise that north korea is all about tricking people. They have their nicest buildings on the border of their country, tourists are only lead around "model" houses, since the ones people actually live in are run down and terrible. Beaches lined with electrified wire to keep people from swimming away....
Seriously, I think he buried 800 tons of dynamite and detonated it to make people THINK he has the nuclear weapon. Wasn't there a news story months ago about a train exploding on its way into north korea that was carrying some stupid amount of TNT?

Ironically the Iraqis abolished the firing squad.
I find it funny how we can start invading countries on human rights. But then do a 360 on middle eastern countries. Saddam was a irredeemable killer and sociopath who actively gassed his own people and we can barely find any mass graves in Serbia.
Well, not alot of states, but you're right it seems
