<div class="IPBDescription">WHAT, PLAX?</div>Okay I bought FEAR in the spring but only finished the SP last night.
I have some questions about the story:
- Near as I can tell- you play Alma's son (who gave birth to you at 15!). Who was the father? I seem to recall that the fertilised egg was implanted in her. I know she had nutty powers- did the story ever reveal if the father had psychic love juice?
- Why does Alma want you dead if you're her son? She seemed keen to keep the baby (you!) during the birthing flashback.
- What's the deal with Alma and Armacham? I remember something about holding Alma for 2 years- does she die after this time or escape?
- The leader of the clone army was one of Alma's kids too, right? How come mum didn't kill him?
- EVIL SPIRITS THAT DIE TO MY DUEL PISTOLS, LOL? NO ECTOPLASM NEEDED?
- How come the leader just sits still in that cell and lets you put a bullet in his head? Bit disappointed there was never a boss battle outside of the mech battles.
- Did Armacham produce the clone army? Then Alma turned the boss guy nuts, who psychically controlled the army? What was he telling the army to do, short of dying to you in very stylish and gory ways?
- What was the ATF force? Government police force or Armacham's people? I think it was the latter, but not sure.
As for the game itself- it was a damned fine singe player experience. Spooky without requiring cheap Doom3-style "I'm behind you!" set pieces. As for scares- the only genuine scare I got was when Alma kills that old Doctor towards the end- after nibbling on his face she suddenly rushes towards you on all fours like some massive spider. </3 spiders >_<
Combat did get a bit boring though- there wasn't much variety in the middle part of the game with the same scenery and badguys. As such I doubt I'll buy Extraction Point (as I'm skint!) <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

Comments
- the father is unknown and probably doesn't matter that much anyway. just assume it's some random guy who volunteered.
- Alma is dead. And nuts and angry. I think all the paternal instincts when outta window.
- Alma died. Her body was just kept in the vault, far away from anyone.
- Alma may not have killed him but she maniuplated him to do what she wanted, which was revenge. So technically, she didn't care much for him either. He was just more useful to her.
- I believe the evil spirits managed to cross over to the physical world so they can be hurt by bullets.
- I think maybe cos Alma told him to. Since from that point on, the soldiers were pretty much going to be useless if Alma was unleashed.
- Yes. Armacham created the clones and something went wrong. Alma was using Fettel to gain revenge and free her body.
- which one was ATF?

If Alma is dead then who's the scruffy-looking chick that jumps into the chopper just before the fade-to-black at the end of the game?

some of the guys you've wasted in the Armacham building was wearing vests with ATF/ATC(I've forgotten which one is right) marked on their back
maybe they're Armacham's security or something....I think
Thanks for the replys. I've checked wikipedia and it turns out I had the special edition DVD which came with a live action prequel- cleared some things up.
The girl on the helicopter at the end is Alma.
ATF are indeed Armacham's security force- sent to destroy all data regarding Alma.
Turns out Fettel (that's your brother who you kill at end) makes a return in Extraction Point- complete with Alma-style powers after you kill him in the original. That's got promise but the reviews didn't take kindly to EP's story.
Rambling about the game now- I wish FEAR didn't have bullet-time. It's such a cheap skill that gets boring after the first few times of use. Plus the bad guys don't have a counter to you hiding by a corner, activating bullet-time and popping out with that rail gun.
Her body's dead, Scythe. She's been dead before F.E.A.R even started. This is just her evil psychic manifestation you're dealing with. Try to keep up.

Neener.
She looked all weak and scruffy, like she'd been stuck in a tube of embryonic fluids for twenty years. Alma's evil psychic manifestation is the little girl in red.
