on a side note: tasty. me wants it.
Not sure if I should post it here or in a PM directed at Merkaba, since this isn't the mapping forum...
About the second screenshot, I would have loved to see more brush detail (3d) in the infestation on that wall. Especially when using this brightness. The brightness will work as a spotlight, accentuating the flatness of the brush/wall
That's the only thing I don't like. The curves make up for it though troughout the rest of the screenies <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
What's up with so many dark maps. ns_ion, ns_altair, ns_machina. Can you guys make more maps like ns_eclipse, tanith and veil. (Plain and Simple) No wonder they are the most popular. Dunno. Just my two sense. Maps feel more alive when they are more brighter. Trust me.

then why is ns_hera not popular
On a related note, the RSS feed of the blog doesn't seem to be functioning for some reason.

Alternate theory. People are afraid to try new maps.
Damn...
BM, i'll stop in vent sometime, do iggy and carty still play NS, or are they ever around? dont think i've gamed with you guys in a while.
I'm pretty sure it's "machina" not "machine" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/nerd-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::nerdy::" border="0" alt="nerd-fix.gif" />
A damned sexy map, nevertheless.
Looking good.

Not sure - I'm using Bloglines, if that helps.

I doubt that a web-based service can login to a htacces protected site, try FeedReader (I think it can) or ThunderBird (i know it can because that's what i use) instead.
Lookin great! Look forward to it.

k/(no|no)/(no|yes)/indeed
Good call on the whole blog thing too, I know I'll be reading it far more often than is healthy.
This is news to me. Did I miss out on an e-mail? As far as I know, the Constellation testing hasn't started yet, so how could you have been testing it with us in the past tense in the future?
*sigh* Did you go and buy a DeLorean without telling us? Please tell me you didn't steal U-235 from some Libyan terrorists to produce the 1.21 gigawatts required...
ns_machina is the most compexed map I have ever seen on the HL engine, it really amazing me how this map was made useing a a 8 year old engine. Every room is vary unique and interesting, the lighting and textures are all well done.
This map gets balance changes regularly and constelletion testing will help even more(when it comes).

It's over, ns_machina is finished.

There are some things I won't comment on, but I felt compelled to respond with at least the following:
Picture 1: as easy as texture alignment might be, it's further on the Things To Do checklist than say, brush changes. During one of our "play"tests for an earlier build we didn't really fight at all, we tried to look for places where we could jetpack into the void for a commander-like top-down view of the whole map. (Things like this are overdramatized examples that have since been fixed, of course, but you can see my point about priorities).
Picture 4: those "sudden edges" are an intentional stylistic characteristic. I'd explain more about how that "floor" is different from most, but I'm not allowed to tell <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />
then why is ns_hera not popular <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
eclipse owns one of the best maps all time
Edit...

The Critter ain't Powerfull anymore, 'cause many Places have been fixed into "Marinefriendly", but thats another Story.
