Alan Wake

omg!
Tests of new games on a dx10 system based, the game is called Alan Wake and need no less than a Dual core to run, its incredible the graphic and the visual of the game, the link to video demo > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGoiQaMM61E They are using Quad Core to max the quality and make the game in real time, and the core is overclocked about more or less 1GHz, and the 3D graphic card is Nvidia based, but i can´t understand the specific number. Well enjoy =p

Requiring a dual core system for that level of graphics is just kind of ludicrous. If they were doing actual radiosity and volumetric light, I could understand it. But most of that was just mocked up.
As for the YouTube video, I'm sorry to say it wasn't really that impressive, for the same reasons as Talesin has given; especially the processor requirements.

Holy crap that's gonna be awesome to see ingame. I hope you can advance time like in Oblivion and just watch a series of sunrises and sunsets...
Eh, a lot of it was faked.. if you take a look at the explosions and 'burning' debris after the half-a**ed tornado, the fire didn't cast any light on its surroundings. Also the water edges still suffered from the standard problem of transitioning from water to land... they didn't zoom in, but on some faces you could still see a very sharp cutoff between the two.

I thought the demonstration of it all on its own gave a very base understanding of what its capable of. Sure, the fire or explosions dont give off light, and the water is rough on the edges at the time being, but from whats seen and displayed in the video I dont think thats a far cry away from being achieved rather easily.

That´s the point Haze, imagine the possibilites of this game, his enviroment, the developer´s are trying to get the more realistic image, like real life to the game, i think they are on the right way.
