<div class="IPBDescription">Let's have some ethnic variety in who we play and/or kill</div>Maybe in the options menu you can customize the look of your marine's face... black, brown, asian, hispanic, white or even cyborg...

of course an outrageous idea would be to have the ability to upload your own custom face textures onto a marine... maybe even create your own meshes for faces and enable bump mapping on them... within reasonable limits of course...

Agree. And why not for aliens too ?

Or, better, in the game menu ( where we can type the tag, name, and keybord binds, etc etc ), a choice of all the alien and marine customization skins, like the WoW menu when we create a new char.

We could choose some textures, with the eye color ( don't care? ^^ ), some details, and other ideas that you could find <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

( damned, it's hard to say in english what i'm thinking in french ;\ )

I don't think there is a need to specify your ethnicity. I'm all for marines of different gender and skin tone, but I'd leave it up to random chance. I mean who cares what your marine looks like? You don't see it yourself anyway. Also, choosing your own skin just distracts from the fact, that you are just another marine grunt. Part of "grey mass"

Besides, the generic NS player is probably caucasian male, so it would look pretty boring to have 60 white marines out of 64 players.

On the contrary, I think if implemented players should be able to choose their race. If you play with the same people a lot, then you will possibly want to have a consistent physical appearance - it'd make the game feel that bit more personal.

Anyone remember the hype for Perfect Dark about being able to put your picture on to a Sim? That'd be cool for NS! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    I was joking.
