Custom death sprites 1.2

I was digging around in the bowels of my webserver archive and found this old thing. I cleaned up the readme and repackaged it for easier reading.

What it does is replace the dull skull and crossbones with some more flavorfull icons that aren't so boring to look at. The readme contains the info about the various types of deaths as some of them are innapropriate to post on this board.

NS ArmsLab has v1.0 that I made a very long time ago, so you can delete that one when you install this.

Excellent. I'll be incorporating this into my pack of customized stuff that I use for my NS installations. Thanks!

How about some screenshots of them?

I can't find my sprite viewer, but here is one of func_rotating kills:

it takes all but a minute to install, just find some random pub or start a server and start suiciding with doors and such to see them all.

I remember these; there defintely worth the download.

For some reason, they just make the game feel more complete. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

Grr, I just found a bug with the definitions. Apparently the lerklift plugin changed the death name from "Lifting" to "lift" so it will do a skull and crossbones with it. If you want to fix the problem, open up hud.txt and look for d_Lifting and duplicate that line, then change d_Lifting to d_lift, or whatever the new death name is.

Make sure you add the "d_" prefix or the sprite won't work. Also, there's a number on the very top line of the hud.txt file, you may want to increase that number by 1 since you're adding a new definition to the list.

::shrug:: I don't join lerklift servers. Well, I don't stick around once I figure out they're lerklift servers. But thanks for the info, Gigabite, it'll come in handy to other people.
