Damn, the retail version is so awesome.
So, you all remember our old Mod rival- Red Orchestra. Well, I'm certainly surprised: The retail offering wasn't just a retail version of the same ol RO: Its RO, completely perfected. The realism acts like the real world- not like that idiotic 'tactical realism' genre usually does, punishing you by making your max run speed 4 miles an hour, or by having recoil from here to new zealand.
Instead, everything feels right, logical, and if you do your best to not play the game like its some action shooter, you'll love it.
Anyone else try it on this trial yet?

Trial. Nope. I had teh full game the first day it came out on steam. However it does get boring but its soo realistic.
if you enjoy games that crash on startup because of a problem the dev team is ignoring this game is for you

I tried the mod version of this way back when, and it was complete sh*t, so I'm sure your description is accurate as well.
I've never, ever had any bugs crop up in ROv1, v2, v3, v4, or Ostfront. Its always been smoothe as hell, with tense gameplay and slower, but more deliberate, maps.
The game itself takes getting used to, sure, but if you just give it a chance and don't demand that it acts like all the other tactical shooters/WW2 games, you'd like it.
