Spec question
My friends & I would like to be able to play small 4vs4 games to practice.. I have a server (It's a ghz w/ allot of ram so I'm not worried about HARDWARE specs).. but my cable modem is capped out at like 156kb/ps upstream.. whats nessisary to run an 8 player server with relatively no lag? I can upgrade to a 356kb/ps upstream but that's as high as this stupid city goes (Las Vegas) short of getting a bussiness line.

Anyone? Thanks.

NS actually uses less bandwidth then CS, I've tested the two on a number of occasions, I'd try it at 150 and see what happens. My guess is that the pings will be a bit high, but it will be playable.

I run a 12 player server and it uses about ~180kbps up/down, a 8 player should be doable on your cable modem. I too think the pings *might* get higher, but you never know. Give it a go and let us know how it went.

I run a 14 player servers. I'm reading the mrtg graphs now. 220kb/s in (aka server download, you shouldn't have a problem with this) and about 280kb/s out (your upload.) So thats.. low low kbps per player. Too lazy to do simple math right now.
