Well anyway PEOPLE HAVE COPIED IT, im finding a server and i see - NATURALLY SELECTED SERVER - So i go there thinking its mine and theres a admin there called [NS] Mercior i say - Hey mercior you in my clan?

Why are you in my server?

WTF! Naturally selected is my clan, WHY ARE YOU COPYING IT

Honestly, SBV, you have NO RIGHT AT ALL to get mad at people. On more than 75% of the mods I play, I have never even seen the forum. Now Naturally Selected would be the #1 most obvious name for an NS clan ever. If I didn't check the forums and wanted to make a clan, I would call it Naturally Selected. You are being just plain inconsiderate calling a very common idea "your own." And that server is not "your server." He made it; what he calls it doesn't change the ownership.

I would actually back SBV up on this one. He had registered his clan on the primary NS registration site (clanfission) quite a while ago. Although, it <b>is</b> a bit of an obvious name to choose.

I think it's okay if more then one clan has the same name. My CS clan, Zero Tolerance, had a name that was fairly common. But did we go into everyone elses server and call them name stealers and say that it is our server even though we didn't set it up? Nuh uh. We lived with it, and they did too.

At one point, someone recorded a demo of another clan called Zero Tolerance, in which they sucked, and that was passed around the web. THAT was not fun.

My clan's name is the Iron Fist Brigade, that actually used to be a CS clan run by a friend of mine, but they're no longer a clan and I really like that name, so he let me use it

I'm kind of with SBV on this one, really, think about it, he was there first.

Oftenly there are things that everyone wants, and the one that gets it first is the one that deserves it, this is like a rule of nature (Like when all those seamen go fighting to get to that "oh so holy" place, and the one that gets there the first is the one to get born)

Now lets say you were the one to get there first and then some other "guy" comes in says: "ey! get outta here this place is mine"

The mere fact that you came into the server thinking it was your own server just shows how clueless you are. Did you just think that a server had magically appeared for your clan? I mean NS has aliens and telepads and other amazing things so did you assume that when you form a clan with 3 of your retarded firends, A SERVER WOULD MAGICALLY APPEAR ON THE INTER-WEB FOR YOU?

We play in professional leagues in other games. Its all very similar. I was open to merging at first and played a match with a couple of the guys cause I wouldn't mind if they were decent players, but these guys are <b>awful</b>.

Now even though we own naturallyselected.com, .org and .net (All 3 of which were registered <b>before</b> SBV signed up to clanfission), we have the #naturallyselected channel and we have our own dedicated server I decided to be fair to these guys, even if they were a bit stupid. I went into their IRC channel and suggested we play a match for the clan name - winner gets the name.

Banned.

Anyway this is going to turn into a flame war so you might aswell lock it while you can.

Edit - You can obviously edit it since you put **obscenity** there. Just because you want my clans place on clanfission doesnt mean you have to go to all these lengths to try and get it.

Hi! This is Winkie from the EVIL [NS] Clan.

Now, i'd like to point out a few facts for our ultra-enlightened friends here

1. It is impossible to form a serious clan before the game is out, this is similar to forming a professional chess team, when none of you own a chess set, only the table to put it on, and chess sets haven't been fully made yet.
2. We have a different clan tag, only the same clan name.
3. I have offered several resolutions to them on past occasions, explained why we cannot change domain names etc

Basically, every time I have tried to be friendly, I have been banned / kicked from their channel,

We've tried our best to be as nice as possible and resolve this with no harm to either side, however, they seem to think they have a god given right to the name because they can pre-register on a few league websites before the game is out.

I can create an NS league and pre-pre-register on that if you'd like, does that make me own the clan? No, it doesn't.

SBV, Please go away, you are a 14 year old moron who thinks you can 'haxor' people using an IP address (FEARSOME!)

SBV, resolve your clan name situation else where. There's no need to fill the boards with petty name squabble. That's why we have PM systems and instant messengers (which apparently already use). Stop argruing on the boards for God's sake.
