Problem With Detailed Texture Pack.

in NS Customization
I just downloaded the detailed texture packs, but they don't seem to be working. I typed "r_detailtextures 1" into the console and they come on, but once I exit the console, they turn off. Any ideas what the problem could be?

    i dont see why they would need to be turned on or off??
    dont they just replace your old NS wads?
