Cant Get Ns Installed

<div class="IPBDescription">Unlike the other fools im usin HL1</div> This is rele doin my head in, in installed HL1 game of the yr edition from the half life generation pack and i also downloaded and installed steam and HL1 patch 1.1.1.0, but when i go to install ns it comes up with the msg saying that setup has not found a valid steam or Half-Life (WON) install and if i click yes to continue then it doesnt find the directory. in steam : menu ---> games --> hl1--->right click--->install than right click on hl1, option ---> keep game always update.

than the pc dowload hl1 through steam (if steam ask a cd key, you just enter the cd-key of hl1)


sorry but i dont remember how to install in the other mode (hl1 alredy installed--> copied on steam by itself)

this is were my problem arises, my cd key is already in use, dnt knw who by as i never registered it and i bought the game brand new, is there anyway i can get a brand new cd key

I am having the same problem, I have hl 1 the original. I have installed it but cant rgister it. I have tried 3 times to get it to work, I even tried with cs:cz but instead of starting the game up when I click on the modified shortcut, all it does is start steam and take me into browse games.....pls help. I have played ns over lan before but not online and i really liked the game can any one pls help?!?!?!?!?!

If you've bought the game, and the cd key is appearing as already bound to another account, then either someone has hit your number on a keygen, or someone has pre-owned the game, registered it, then taken it back to whatever outlet they bought it from.

If it applies to you, then you need to get in contact with either the store you bought it from, if it was unsealed, or Valve themselves...
