It actually looks OK
IGN is a bunch of jerks who have a trailer exclusive, but at least you can dl the high res versions w/o waiting in line or signing up for crap.

It actually looks pretty decent too. Which is about the best thing you can say for it cause I'm sure its gonna suck.

Oh and they've launched a horrible web site for the movie too.

Wow, the website IS pathetic. At least the DOOM logo hasn't changed. The DOOM lettering in the trailer and website looks pretty cool. A little too pink-red in color, though. Needs to be a little deeper.

I watched the video, and I'd like to ask: HOW DID THOSE MARINES GET GUNS WITH LIGHTS ON THEM?!

Haha, that trademark scream is in the video, too. It's right at the ending.

This will probably be the truest movie based on a game. It's crap, I think they've done a good job.

I guess we shouldn't really try and speculate about the upcoming Halo movie either. God knows that if they screw it up, a million fans will be rioting in the streets...

I'm sorry.. but I had a lot of hopes for this movie.
When they posted on slashdot a few months ago that it would not follow the Doom storyline to par and was not as much as athmospheric as Doom was. I cried.
Plus, they don't wear standard issue UAC Marine armor at all, AND they're some derelict marine group from outerspace. Doom Plot gone wrong.

The CG and everything else looks right, but this was made more into an action/thriller than what it should of been.. a action/horror.

Trailers always look decent except if the movie is even worse than worst.

The website is "dire?" That's the most imaginative thing I've seen anyone do with English for a few days, at least. Congratulations, you get the Congressional Onos of Literary Honor.

Yeah, Dire, real good word for a website.
If you mean IGN.. well, okay, you're in dire need of professional schooling.

Someone PLS go make a better website for them.

Back on the movie, i guess putting the "hell" plot in the storyline would be controversial and not popular mainstream wise?

I think basically they are trying to make the Doom movie another Resident Evil movie.

Keep in mind they were referring to the original DOOM.

This is why I never want Half-Life to become a movie…this is why…

    Ben Stiller as Gordon Freeman…*shudder*

If you watch the comic con panel, it's pretty convincing that it's pretty true to the game.

There is a difference between crap and boring. I'd say it's true to the game and will be boring, it will also be untrue too and be totally and utterly crap. The Rock's voice in a film makes me switch off instantly.

Edit: On note of Half-Life movie. It would be pretty cool to see someone like Richard Gere or Sean Connery as the G-Man .

Gary Oldman for the G-Man, clearly.

I love that incredibly generic scream at the end of the trailer. Every time I hear that one I think someone just clicked on the Terran Academy from Starcraft.

It's part of some generic sound library that everyone and their brother uses. Most of the good old "CHICK-CHICK" reload/weapon cocking noises are part of it too it would seem.
