Introduction:
Territory is a Natural Selection Modification that implements a new game type. It's implemented as a Plugin and runs Server Side. It takes NS: Combat gameplay and changes a few rules.
Your objective is to control key positions of the map represented by Resource Nodes. No CC or Hive destroying, just controlling the nodes. There is actually more than one game mode for it, and some maps support more than one, which adds even more diversity to the game.
You can think of Territory as a step between Combat and NS Classic. You still have the experience/level system of Combat, but with a few strategy elements from Classic. You need to capture, build and hold key positions on the map and attack the enemy controlled positions.
Since you have several points to attack and defend, teamwork is a must. I think even those people that dislike Combat, because they think it's boring and repetitive, will like Territory since it's more tactical and dynamic at the same time. Territory could also help new players to have an easier transition from the simple frag-oriented Combat to the complex strategy-oriented Classic.

This sure looks very prommising, and as someone said.
NS meets UT2004
Looks really great though, good job.
Looking good, looking good indeed.
Also building/killing nodes is boring.
In my opinion, make maps as big as ns maps.. and it'll be pretty good.
Its already pretty good, I played it on the NSA NS:T server. A lot has changed since I tested it 2 1/2 months ago.
just changing the prefix from ns_ to co_ should do that. *I think* =]

Why not just play ns in that case? I think you're missing the point.
played this morning on the pfff server, it was pretty damn hectic, and alot more communication was going on between players, even more so than on normal ns_.
gj to the mod devs!
No, no it doesn't.
Since the way you level is to kill people, all I do is rush their hive/CC room and spawn camp them for easy kills.
Once I get a good spawn camp going, the rest of my team does the boring stuff (capping nodes).
gg.
The way you should get exp is from the nodes themselves, and I think the nodes should have half the hp they do now for faster gameplay. Now THAT would be teamwork.

So what you're saying is, because you don't cap nodes, then noone else does? Great logic there.
He's pointing out that teamwork isn't any more necessary in this game than in regular combat.
The only problems I saw were sometimes the RT's wouldn't drop (as a marine). There was also a lack of information on what the different gameplay modes were (we had some confusion for the tech tree gameplay mode, namely that obs was required for resupply which caused some problems when fades and lerks started to show up; also the mode where we had to drop rt's in series, we had some confusion as aliens since we had to go 5-4-3-2-1).
Definately nice work, I think this type of additional gameplay would work very well in teaching new players the ropes, mainly the tech tree and the importance of RTs. This is exactly what NS needed before it went to My Games.
A couple of people have compared the 2, yet no one's been able to show us exactly what Romano had. And we don't mean what you think he had, let's see the source...because I've not seen the first thing on it in writing.
Maybe if you make maps specific to this mode it could be something, but now i see myself playing more combat than terr.
