actually swiftspea, Kirk is more than just a guys name. It's also the name of a navel vessle (I think it was an older class carrier, but I'm not sure) and also is a term in MetaPhysics- to my understanding, a Kirk has something to do with a SemiQuark... but what I haven't a clue 0o'

Kirk gets beat up by Klingons
Picard **** off 3 Klingons and not only beat the sh*t out of two of them, he got stabbed in the heart, looked at it, laughed, and punched the THIRD one in the face. Then he passed out from blood loss... but eh, it's the premise that counts <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Picard knows better than to pick a fight 1v1 against something he can't beat, but will find a way to exploit his surroundings or an object to win.
Kirk went hand to hand with a Gorn... take an alligator, make it huminoid, with 2 inch thick solid leathery skin, arms the size of 100 gallon trash cans, and standing 8 foot tall at least. Kirk got his **** handed to him on a plate.

Hey, I didn't make the googlefight results, I just posted them. I could care less about some battleships or something, I'm not the one who included the name "tiberias" in my vs. I didn't even know that was kirk's middle name, but everyone knows good old luc.

Not only that, Kirk chose a superior crew. Spock is much cooler than Riker. Bones beats Crusher any day. And Scotty is hella better than LaForge. Scottish > Cripple any time, any where. Kirk didn't need no psychologist on his ship. He didn't have emotional problems from getting his retarded butt assimilated by the Borg. He's from a line of manly men who don't have emotions.

I think that's actually because everyone always throws Picard's middle name in there for some stupid reason, but doesn't for Kirk. Of course, what we can be assured of is that Voyager was a total abomination in comparison.
