<div class="IPBDescription">Whats yours?</div> For me, its Black. It may be PS2 exclusive, but damn, it looks awesome.
Being dubbed "Gun Porn", the game emphasizes ballistics with everything- definately an action game, it has realistic gun physics, recoil, and control to it, as well as actual sounds for each. But what the guns can do is definately not realistic- make cars explode by shooting enough shots on 'em, blast through body armored enemies(many of them), not to mention the graphics are drop dead gorgeous for PS2. It just looks awesome.
For example:

At least to me, it looks awesome. Oh, and for a preview: <a href='http://ps2.gamespy.com/playstation-2/black/633916p1.html' target='_blank'>Gamespy Preview</a>
BTW, for anyone wondering the dev, its by the guys who do the Burnout series.

Anyway, for me, its the next installment in the socom series, <b>socom3</b>
Seriously, if this game end up being anything less than legendary, I'll cry.

For me, FEAR is my most anticipated, but only because STALKER I count as much more than a 'shooter'. Second would be the HL2 expansion, you can never have enough City 17.
(now with MORE one liners)

Those are really the only anticipatable shooters I see at all on the horizon for the next few years. Which is sad.
Team Fortress 2, Duke Nukem Forever, Band of Super Mario Brothers: Battle Field Call of Honor 1942
After playing it at the CPL, I really have to pick up the game forthe singleplayer experience. The AI is just brilliant.

I'd get your kleenex now. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
As for me? Personal biased projects aside... Call of Duty 2, HL2 Expansion, Gears of War, Sin Episodes... Black looks intriguing, too. Interested to see how Prey turns out as well.
Also eager to see I-8, the Insomniac PS3 shooter shown briefly at E3, but these all seem to be coming quite a bit sooner. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Runners-up: Q4 and Prey.
Ok, ok, Call of Cthulhu isn't strictly an fps, it's a survival horror, but it is played from the first person perspective. Things going for it are the survival horror and insanity elements, the whole world of Lovecraft, the fact it's made by Bethesda and also that the world just NEEDS more survival horror games that are different from the Resident Evil / Obscure / Cold Fear zombie mould.
