Some people may tell you there are "scripts" that can speed it up. It's true that there are scripts that will (for example) fire once when you press the mouse button down and once when you lift it back up. But even these are limited in speed by the rate of fire cap. People with those scripts end up having to practice clicking down and up at the right speed and rhythm, or they're likely to fire *slower* than players like me, who just repeatedly slam the mousebutton with default controls. They're still limited in firing rate just like everyone else.
[edit]Now that I think about it, this may be more accurately described as a different way to bind things instead of being a real script....but since I haven't used it and don't know exactly how it's set up, I wouldn't know which it's supposed to be called.
The cap is rather low, so it is super fast. Try binding +attack to your mwheel and try.
(And remember that by the time the server notifies your client that you've been hit, he may have fired 3-4 MORE bullets.)
It doesn't really matter as if you practice with the button bashing you can do it wihtout a script so there is no advatage given by a script here.
unlimited rof talk about a mistake
It's because pressing the button fast enough to maximize pistol speed has an adverse effect on your hand's stability and thus your accuracy. Even if you don't fire faster with a pistol script, you can use it to steady your aim by not clicking as quickly.

Also mouse only have a certain amount of clicks supposidly in them so your buttons last longer but i don't really care mouse these days are sooooo cheap.
The mouse i've used for so many years is a basic Microsoft optical mouse, it's never failed me up until now. The wheel has never stopped working, buttons have never stopped clicking.
And you can accomplish more with the same amount of skill if you use a pistol script. This really isn't hard to understand. Whether or not you think it's fair, the benefit is pretty clear.

No it's not. The pistol rate is capped - the only 'benifit' of a script is less wear and tear on your mouse. -_-

The best pistolers in NS all pistol script. There is a reason for that.

When I played in battery the only script I used was a 2hop for bhopping, and was arguably one of the best pistolers in ns at the time. Didn't script it, had a badass mouse that let me aim and hammer the button at the same time.

Who says you have to have ONLY mouse1 bound to attack? Bind a key (or mousewheel) and hammer away without moving your mouse at all.

Same mouse i have mate.
Word of advice in the logitech settings turn in-game sensitivity boost off. If you don't and you set it to max and then go in-game with a sensitivity of 5 you will spin around like crazy if you move it just a little <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo-->
