all these bombs go off. and the SAME day, the tube and bus lines are running as normal by 4 pm. thats some solid brit steel.
but as if thats not enough.
today VE day, thousands of people all crammed together the perfect terrorist oppurtunity. and no. they are there smiling and cheering. and celebrating england. just made me so proud. there is a phrase i cant remember something about not letting the bastards grind you down.. and we have fully encompassed that.
so ok, swelling with brit pride. anyway.
the planes? wow. it was quite an experience. ive never seen a fortress in flight before.

Hurricane
Spitfire
and, the one special plane.. the lancaster, i think its one of the only flying originals.. and it dropped 1 million poppies over london. through its bomb hatch no less, the irony, yet stunning symbolicness(not a real word) is amasing. very very nice day to be british.

they dont support their country, they show their patriots and that they want to live in that country, and that they stand for what the country stands for (war, killing enviorment, wannabe freedom, etc etc)

My GF has an issue with people who 'support soldiers'. In one particular case she went into a store where they had a picture of one and a little sign saying they were supporting him. She knew the people in there so had a little conversation...

Poppy's are awesome. Annoyingly they've been increasing harder to find over the years.
This time 5 years ago practically every shop had a donation box and Poppy's there.
Flash back to November last year and the only place I could find one was in a large store (Woolworths) and even then the donation box was chained to the counter.
Either it's this area (likely) or the general public are much worse than they used to be when it comes to helping themselves.
Oh and, I always donate at least twice, once for me and once for my cat. I got her on Rememberence Day and she was playing with a poppy so I named her "Poppy".

Edit: Oh, and while the B17 carries more bombs than the Lancaster (although not by very much), I think the Lancaster has sexier lines.
Try standing beneath a Vulcan bomber though. If you don't have anything to compare it to it looks like a fighter plane, but HOLY CRAP that thing is huge. :o

Poppies are a common flower that grows in Europe, We use the poppy to represent people that have fought and died in the 2 world wars. If im right the poppy grew on the past fields of battle Like Ypres in Belgium that is why we use the poppy to remember those who died for our lives of today.
And the C47 is a mega transport plane i think.
