Beta1 Release:
I just finished a playtest of beta1 and now it's being released to everyone. I need all the feedback I can get tbh! There's a lot of things that need to be done. More cover and more vents and so on. Some stuck issues also. Someone said to get more contrast lighting too. I'll se about that.

UPDATE! Probably the biggest one before beta1 <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> .. Now let's see. I've been working A LOT! Improved r_speeds greatly in many places. Built new areas and the map is closing beta1 very fast. The map is 90% complete with layout. Most of the areas in the following shots are finished and some of them have a little more work that needs to be done in them.
Also my clipnodes are running out so some of the details you can see in the shots will probably be removed or changed drastically. This to actually get the map done and have people play it.

What needs to be done:
-Clipnodes must be reduced before I can finish the map without any troubles.
-Last hive needs to be built
-The ways for going to the last hive must be built
-Backstory must be written(I have a decent one inside my head!)
Layout will come AS SOON AS the layout is 100% finished for beta1
Comments and Critics are more than welcome. I hope to see more comments than when I first started this thread.

It's very blue - I like blue and all, but it's <i>very</i> blue. Geometry seems pretty good, as well. Any layout/minimap type screens?
About the layout:

Comments and Critics are welcome.
You are really going to have to work hard to set it off, and give it a distinctive style all of its own. You've got what looks like a good base to work from, but now I think you need to think about how to do two things. Make the locations more memorable and have obvious function. Give it an infectious style that people won't have to think twice about.
(also, personally, I think I liked the old marine start better.)

maybe changing the colorstyle would have a good idea, there had never been a "green" wall_lab texture set <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Well Tequila gave me the idea of recoloring the eclipse set to my own color. And so I did. And I think it turned out really good. As it looks a lot different ingame than in the editor <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->..
Also thanks for comments. Lighting is going through some, I hope, good changes(spotlights changed to white, with a tint of green and so on. More orange lights.)

Maybe more pics later. Maybe beta on friday. God knows if my clipnodes can take the 10% left of the map to finish(when thinking layout it's 10% left). Detail to rooms will come/be taken away as soon as I know if my clipnodes are ok.

I have been working just a little bit further on this. That because of the **** clipnode restriction. And speaking of clipnodes. Thanks to Merkaba who helped me out with those and made them go down from 95% to 60%. *Applaus*..

I have also decided to post the about 90% complete layout for beta1. Please comment if you like. Won't change anything until I see how it plays though.

That was about it for now. Beta 1 will be ready at least in the end of the summer. I don't get to work much on the map for about two weeks from Monday because I'm taking a little vacation from everything.
I absolutely love the lighting in here, very nice shadow casting. Not to mention nice dark vs light contrast...
