Terminal Velocity?
My friend recently told me of an old game he used to play in middle school, probably around 1998. The information we have been able to come up with is sketchy at best unfortunately.

It is probably a game for a Mac.
The title is something involving terminal or velocity or both.
It was 2D
You had your own basic spaceship at first
You had to get ahead by transporting stuff
You could explore the galaxy and stuff and get better ships
There were pirate spaceships and stuff that would kill you
Combat was real time, or seemingly real. Not classic turn based.

I know this isn’t much to go on, but if anyone has any ideas please help.

edit: He now seems to think it was produced by this company, http://www.macsoftgames.com/ , but that it has since been removed from thier site per its age.

Yeah we check that, and he asure me that that is not it, as it was a 2D game. It was because of this that we are unsure of the title.

I had a demo for it or something; that game was pretty wicked. TIE Fighter was better, though.

Looking at this post my first thought was STARS.

2D, start off with a ship, pirates, have to transport and mine resources. could explore and upgrade ships.

Ah well if its free might give it a try, always up for a laugh.
