Ok, as I just recently got my self addicted to this, I figgure I will pimp my latest Anime:

    <a href='http://www.bs-i.co.jp/anime/AIR/' target='_blank'>Air</a> (<a href='http://animenfo.com/animetitle,1475,mlmoin,air_tv.html' target='_blank'>AnimeNfo stuff</a>, <a href='http://a.scarywater.net/lunar/' target='_blank'>Torrent</a>, yes same people that are doing Bleach)

The Basic plot is of a young man (I don't know how old he is) that is living as a vagabond, performing magic puppet showes for a living. He ends up wraped up in the lives of a bunch of very strange young girls in an odd little town.

the first few eps are rather confusing, and tend to turn people off. however, once you get into parts where they explain everytihng it makes it all worth it.

    Very cute, touching, and interesting plots <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Chobits is another one where manga>anime but I enjoyed both. The manga explained things better imo.

    Edit:

<a href='http://www.animenfo.com/animetitle,934,lyvgvq,saikano.html' target='_blank'>Saikano</a> is another good love drama series I enjoyed.

heyyyy, wasn't I the one who introduced you to air than? :p

Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien is real good but it's not an action flick or anything so those who don't enjoy relationships and drama probably wouldn't like it, but it's got my recommendation.

They've all been mentioned before but I sincerely suggest watching Trigun, One Piece, Bleach, Azamanga Diaoh and Angelic Layer.

One I don't remember seeing mentioned but I really really really suggest you watch is Tsukihime. It's been fully fansubbed so you can watch the whole thing and it's gripping stuff :3

Oh and before I forget check out Vandread too.

yus Vandred! (and second stage also!)

And no, I introduced you to Air!

or it might have been both of us finding out at the same time or sometinhg and both going "oooo, look at this!"

chobits is great, don't watch the movie (it is just a rehash of the TV Series)

    What exactly is FLCL?

I think i will watch a movie next...

Options: Akira, Spirited away, Gohst in the Shell, Trigun or the Cowboy Bebop movie to round up the series are all on the list of could-get movies to watch. What should i pick?
Should i try souce something else?

Ok so im staying away from naruto for a bit... Getting myself spoiled and well addicted to Anime by watching all the good things first.. hehe

Im already thinking of the next series to watch... Has anyone heard of Bleach? Any good? I was going to watch the Samurai Champloo series.... although i am having second thoughts, i might just wantt to get a different director/artist... what do you Anime buffs think?

Glad I could help you out some.

And to add my further recomendation. <a href='http://www.animenfo.com/animetitle,1346,gjauhe,monster.html' target='_blank'>Monster</a> is absolute gold. Best way I can describe it is as a psychological thriller, no magic or laser guns here, just people wrestling with their personal demons. It is perhaps my favorite anime of all time.

    No.

Like everyone else in this thread, I highly recommend FLCL, Ghost in the Shell (both movies and both seasons of the series), Cowboy Bebop, and Samurai Champloo. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
Age is no barrier in imbibing Anime. Its true, Ive gotten several people your age, Depot, hooked on Anime. For example, I recently lent my Ghost in the Shell DVDs (The movies and Stand Alone Complex) to a friend of mine, who watched it with his college professor father, only to come back later to find that the good Doctor was 12 episodes farther than my animefiend friend, and was kicking said friend out of the TV room, to prevent him from encountering any spoilage.

So yeah, go watch Ghost in the Shell.

There are other recommendations, but I would be typing all night. In all likelyhood, my Anime stash is second only to Infinitum's on these forums.

I'd like to re-recommend Last Exile, ace anime with a fast plot.

Also I watch Bleach, it's sort of like the anime equivelent of a summer movie in that it's not super spectacular but just fun to watch. One Piece also falls into this category but, at least at the point I'm at (episode 30), it seemed a lot less brainded and all around much better, but I think they're starting to use some filler now.

Also, for movies, go for the Street Fighter II movie. Nice action, though the dubbing (which is the only version that's easy to find) is a little corny.
