It happens before windows starts at all where the little bar like this appears:
|||||||||______|_______|______|______|_______|
I'll give you a paint representation
this is what the whole screen looks like
It depends on your BIOS, IIRC. Speaking of which, have you updated your bios recently? How about other drivers?
Really?
It goes by really really quick usually ... appearing for a half-second.
It was there on mine for about 10 seconds though.

I don't even know what a BIOS is <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
EDIT: I fixed the problem somehow by deleting random files! Go me ... !
it's what your MoBo has built in incase you, nuebcaek, fry your normal OS by deleting random files <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Here's a sample (Yes, this IS from my moBo box... it's a Gigabyte K8Triton)
"In order to avoid software wrong detected of the heatsink or fan when it apart from CPU, AMD Athlon XP and Athlon MP develop "Thermal SHutdown Function" to protect CPU to conduct any wrong operations. In short period of time the component of inside CPU will auto monitor temperature when it goes higher than normal and it will shutdown immediately."
I like that one... lol...

Wikipedia FTW!
While thought experiments on the wilder shores of theoretical physics continue, no scheme that may allow "warp speed" travel has yet been devised that has been accepted by mainstream science. Some physicists have proposed a method for FTL travel, based on Einstein's theory of general relativity. They recognize that it is impossible to go faster than the speed of light. However, given enough energy it is possible to change the shape of space, i.e., to warp it. In which case, a starship using this system would need only travel a few kilometers per hour. This theory, known as the Alcubierre drive, has the convenient feature that its terminology is in accord with Trek jargon: "warp factors" measure the warping of space, not actual speed.
Yeah ... I read it the first time <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
