I'm thinking this is down to either (i) overheating (as it's chuffing hot lately) or (ii) the 5.6 catalysts not agreeing with it.

so...

(i) How do I measure the temperature of the card?
(ii) are there any special procedures I should take care of before simply reinstalling older drivers?

    Uninstall the ones you have now first...
