Yeah, that was pretty fun Snidely. Although the gunfights sucked and those bastards that snatched your wallet... grr. >_<
Although.. this pic, no way its even going to relate to something that will be the GTA we'll see soon. Its too doctored and hardly looks realistic. Everything is so computery and looks like a square its not even funny.
Cmon, don't get all upset over the fuel management thing. Remember how everyone reacted when rockstar said you'd have to eat? It turned out to be not a big deal at all; you make a stop maybe once every hour of playing, more if you're doing a lot of running. So, this'll most likely be the same; not game-changing, but enough to notice it occasionally.

A fuel system, however, means that you'll always run out of gas eventually. I've always liked to just cruise around and do nothing while I listen to the radio stations in GTA games, and this change would kinda kill that for me. I'm hoping you only need to fill up after thirty minutes or an hour of driving; if it's something like ten or fifteen minutes I don't think I could even play the game. Also, keep in mind that fuel is probably seperate from repairs, which have always been a pit-stop requirement in most driving situations in GTA. I can imagine that the taxi missions could totally suck if you have to monitor your overall time, current fare time, damage recieved, wanted rating (although that shouldn't ever be an issue), and a new fuel system.
On the other hand, I don't like judging the specifics of a system that's so far from being released, so I really shouldn't comment on any of it. For all we know, the fuel system won't even make it to retail.

The only way the fuel system would be even remotely worth it is if the amount of fuel in your tank was directly proportional to how big the explosion is when your subsequently flip and crash your car into a bus.

As long as the mechanics stay arcadey then its cool.
TBH I'm not actually that impressed by the screenshot though. I mean can you really go "OMG" over yet another pretty building? Nowadays graphics are so good that the only time they get an OMG is if a) they really suck or b) they have their own particular style (GW, Psychonauts etc). Yet another pretty pic of reality is boring.
What I would like to see is screenshots that demonstrate new features, innovative new ways to interact with the game etc. Thats what really gets my juices flowing...

GTA is definitely my favorite console series ever, so this is great news. Hopefully, they will eventually come out with a PC port. By then I'm sure I'll be able to run it well.
In any case, this looks awesome, aside from the fuel. I liked the character building and customization in SA, but fuel would just be an annoyance since it would be different every time you get in a new vehicle and it doesn't let you really change the character in any way, other than taking his money.
...
We need GTA: Ariadne Arm. Play as a Skulk trying to make it to the top of the criminal underworld, killing any TSA popo that get in your way. It would come complete with a stat system that lends the game RPG elements and if you really work at it, might let you be come a Fade.
bleh... I'll be interested in GTA when they produce GTH (Grand Theft Horse: thievery in the wild west!) or GTSS (Grand Theft Spaceship). I didn't really get into san andreas; the fact I couldn't understand half the hip-hop jargon or whatever annoyed me and I can't say I really cared much for any of the characters, not even the one I was playing :/
As for the screenie, what about it? I can't see anything even remotely interesting or worth scrutinizing in it. What next? Taking screenies of a rubber duck lying on a bathroom floor causing mass awe? :/
meh.. i wouldnt want an mmo gta... a simple coop would give me a boat load of fun.. like if they made a game where 2 players could run around in the world at once.. and occasionally theres a mission where the two would have to work together or against each other... the problem with too many players would be too many **** tards screwing around and ruining the game for you....

I think fuel is going to be different. It turns out you don't have to eat unless you don't stop to save for a few days of game time; I was never required to stop and eat a meal until I started doing some of the stuff that requires long play sessions (such as the driving school).
